Background
In his previous life, Tang San was an Outer Disciple of the Tang Sect. Taken in by an Outer Sect Elder as an infant, he lived in the sect for twenty-nine years. At nine, he began secretly learning inner-sect techniques forbidden to Outer Disciples and spent twenty years creating the Buddha’s Fury Tang Lotus. Pursued by the sect master and elders, he insisted that he had never passed the secrets to outsiders, left the Tang Lotus behind, and leapt from Ghost’s Worry Cliff rather than be branded a traitor. 603
As a six-year-old in his current life, Tang San used his inherited Tang Sect skills to protect Old Jack from a gatekeeper. 18 After Grandmaster deduced the existence of his Twin Martial Souls from his certificate, Tang San recognized the value of his Martial Soul knowledge, knelt, and became his disciple. 21
Tang San later learned that his second Martial Soul was the Clear Sky Hammer, the inherited spirit of the Clear Sky Sect. Grandmaster revealed that Tang San is a direct descendant of the sect and that his father is Tang Hao, the Clear Sky Douluo. 679 680
Appearance
Following the second awakening of his Blue Silver Grass, Tang San becomes notably more handsome and carries an aristocratic, noble bearing that initially leaves even his former academy companions unable to recognize him. 804 805
- Fairer skin, dark-blue eyes, and long dark-blue hair. 797
- Sharply defined, resolute facial features. 797
- Manifests eight dark-purple, bladed spider lances from his back when using his External Soul Bone. 399
- His appearance had already changed four years before his reunion with Shrek Academy. 806
Personality
Tang San is disciplined, analytical, and intensely focused in combat. He favors preparation, battlefield control, acupoint targeting, and unconventional weapons over direct confrontation. His Purple Demon Eyes and unusually strong Mental Power further support his calm decision-making during battle. 122 551
He is fiercely loyal to Grandmaster and repeatedly places his teacher’s safety above his own. When Hall Guardian Knights forbade anyone from treating the disguised and injured Grandmaster, Tang San killed them in anger with Dragon Whisker Needles. 669 670 He also attempts to shield Grandmaster from Spirit Hall despite being badly injured himself. 775 776
Tang San’s confidence often rises sharply after breakthroughs, especially when challenging Ao Tian, though repeated defeats temper his judgment without ending their rivalry. 277 299 His desire to grow stronger is increasingly tied to revenge against Spirit Hall and those he believes have humiliated or harmed him. 679 786 893
Abilities & Skills
Blue Silver Grass / Blue Silver Emperor
Tang San’s primary Martial Soul is Blue Silver Grass, initially classified as a Control System Tool Martial Soul. Its adaptability allows him to select Soul Rings beyond plant-type Soul Beasts. 59 273 275
- Uses vines to bind, restrain, and control opponents. 121 205
- His third Soul Skill, Spider Web Restraint, can immobilize a single major opponent but is less effective when multiple enemies can break the target free. 400
- Awakens Blue Silver Grass into the Blue Silver Emperor, greatly strengthening all of its capabilities. 814
- Possesses the Blue Silver Domain, which significantly enhances the power of his Blue Silver Overlord Spear. 809 817
- His fifth Soul Skill, Blue Silver Overlord Spear, is a powerful single-target attack capable of piercing Zhao Wuji’s defenses even after Martial Soul Avatar and Immovable Ming King Body are active. 817
Clear Sky Hammer
Tang San’s second Martial Soul is the Clear Sky Hammer of the Clear Sky Sect. Its existence makes him a Twin Martial Soul wielder and establishes his heritage as Tang Hao’s son. 679 680
- Uses the Clear Sky Sect’s Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer, a self-created Soul Skill that compounds hammer strikes and raises attack power without requiring Soul Rings. 785 786
- Reaches eighty-one strikes before Tang Hao explains that he has not yet mastered the technique’s true essence. 786
- After Tang Hao’s training, his ringless Clear Sky Hammer’s attack power is among the strongest at the Soul King level. 797
- Eventually bears five red hundred-thousand-year Soul Rings. 842

Eight Spider Lances
Tang San gains the Eight Spider Lances after absorbing the Man Faced Demon Spider’s thousand-year Soul Ring. The rare External Soul Bone erupts from his back during absorption and eventually fuses permanently with him. 276 277 433
- Eight sharp, purple-black spider lances can support his body, increase mobility, and stab enemies directly. 277 399
- The lances carry the Man Faced Demon Spider’s potent poison. 277 400

- The bone can be damaged; after severe injuries, Tang San is unable to use the lances. 453 454
Domains and Divine Techniques

- Sea God Thirteen Forms: Never Return — The third form and Tang San’s strongest available single-target trident technique; it far surpasses his ordinary Soul Skills. 847
