After receiving Krite's orders, all seven Construct Puppets raised their weapons. Greatswords, longsabers, meteor hammers, and other heavy weapons gleamed with a cold light.
Behind them, the patterns on over a hundred Magic Mechs lit up. Wisps of wind curled around their feet, increasing their speed, while the lightning witchcraft arrays enchanted into their metal bodies began converting elements. Violent electricity coiled around the Magic Mechs' hands.
Behind the Magic Mechs, the Iron Golems arranged in formation raised their standard shields and steel greatswords. Under the Granite Golems' control, clumps of sand condensed into solid spheres. These sandballs possessed mass comparable to granite and exceptional hardness.
Facing the snarling merfolk army charging at them with weapons brandished and claws bared, the Puppet Legion led by the seven Construct Puppets remained silent. They simply strode forward with heavy steps, kicking up great sprays of water and churning the shallow shore into murky chaos.
"Pelaaa!!!"
The merfolk shouted the slogan that had brought them endless glory and courage since ancient times. At the front, the Raging Tide Chieftain and his three Great Warriors were the first to collide with the seven Construct Puppets.
"Wah! (Die!)"
The Raging Tide Chieftain actually wrapped himself in ice, transforming into an irregular spherical ice ball that smashed head-on toward two Construct Puppets.
One of the Construct Puppets wielded a meteor hammer, while the other held a massive war blade. From either side, they swung their weapons with crushing force, smashing them into the incoming ice ball.
The ice ball's unstoppable momentum was instantly halted by the Construct Puppets' attacks, freezing it in place. Inside the ice ball, the Raging Tide Chieftain was aghast.
The ice ball exploded at once, turning into countless ice spikes that struck the Construct Puppets. The spikes were incredibly hard, leaving tiny marks on the Construct Puppets' metal bodies. Yet in the blink of an eye, those small dents were erased by the Construct Puppets' innate healing ability.
After witnessing the Construct Puppets' exaggerated regenerative ability firsthand, a grave light appeared even in the Raging Tide Chieftain's seemingly dull fish eyes. His eyes widened as he grabbed the Azure Trident and engaged the two Construct Puppets in battle.
The two puppets and the towering fishman became entangled in battle. They traded blow after blow, and even the aftermath of their clashes muddied the nearby shallow sea, even turning parts of it into specks of ice.
One Construct Puppet swung its meteor hammer and smashed it heavily into the Raging Tide Chieftain's chest. His icy armor shattered instantly, and he was sent flying.
The Raging Tide Chieftain patted his chest and condensed a new suit of icy armor. He flipped over and rose to his feet without a scratch. Clearly, he was the thick-skinned, tough-bodied type as well.
The other Construct Puppet swung its war blade toward the Raging Tide Chieftain's head. The Beast Tooth Necklace around his neck immediately shone, forming a blue protective membrane that blocked the strike.
He tore the Beast Tooth Necklace from his neck, completely giving up its defensive advantage, and threw it into the sea. Drawing in the surrounding currents, the necklace condensed a sea beast with a crocodile's head and a shark's body, which lunged at the war-blade Construct Puppet with bared fangs and claws.
The war-blade Construct Puppet extended one arm to block the sea beast's bite, then swung its war blade with the other and cut the creature in half at the waist. Yet after the sea beast reverted into a mass of seawater, it leaped from the shallow sea once more and continued attacking the war-blade Construct Puppet.
To a certain extent, the Fang-toothed Sea Beast relied on the endless ocean and its elemental properties to delay the war-blade Construct Puppet, but such a delay could not last long.
Every time the war-blade Construct Puppet split its body apart and returned it to seawater, the Fang-toothed Sea Beast's form grew more blurred and dimmer.
Clad in icy armor, the Raging Tide Chieftain wielded his trident and controlled the surrounding Ice Daggers, turning his attacks entirely into solid ice as he battled the meteor-hammer Construct Puppet.
Although the Raging Tide Chieftain was already a Level 1 Lifeform, he had developed the ice power derived from his Water Element power far too poorly.
He merely combined ice power with seawater to hinder the meteor-hammer Construct Puppet's movements, condensing Ice Walls or ice blades to attack. He had not developed his ice abilities on a deeper level.
This level of ice power might have been enough against other Merfolk Great Warriors, or even against other tribal chieftains.
But when facing Construct Puppets far stronger than himself—especially Construct Puppets with thick hides, high attack, and high defense—it seemed weak and powerless.
Although the Construct Puppets lacked outstanding elemental attacks, under Krite's enhancements, their defense, attack power, strength, mobility, speed, and healing abilities had all been elevated to the utmost limit.
The meteor-hammer Construct Puppet and the ice-wielding Raging Tide Chieftain were evenly matched. In fact, under the Construct Puppets' immense strength, the Raging Tide Chieftain was slowly beginning to fall into a disadvantage.
The Raging Tide Chieftain alone held back two powerful Construct Puppets. Behind him, his three Merfolk Great Warriors also used their own methods to control the water and stop three Construct Puppets. However, they were far weaker than the Raging Tide Chieftain and were visibly falling behind.
They struggled to form water walls and shields from seawater while condensing it into water whips and ropes, doing everything they could to impede the Construct Puppets' advance.
The Raging Tide Tribe's strongest forces had only intercepted five Construct Puppets. The remaining two Construct Puppets charged straight into the merfolk army like tigers among sheep, stirring up torrents of blood.
Neither the Merfolk Warriors' currents and water bubbles nor the Merfolk Hunters' daggers and short spears could inflict even the slightest damage on the Construct Puppets. They could not even leave the smallest mark.
The two Construct Puppets swung their heavy weapons, intimidating these reckless little merfolk in the most primitive, bloody, and brutal manner. They smashed their skulls, crushed their necks, and stomped down with massive feet, bursting their frail bodies apart.
The Iron Golem Legion behind them moved in perfect unison like precise machines: shields raised, blades swung, slashed down, shields raised, blades swung, slashed down...
They mechanically repeated the same sequence. Row after row of Merfolk Warriors and Merfolk Hunters were cut apart by their steel blades. Even the tremendous force carried by their shields could smash Merfolk Hunters' skulls.
Piles of corpses gathered beneath their feet before being trampled into pulp by their steel feet and mixed into the sand below.
As for the Granite Golem Legion, these Granite Golems controlled the heavy, seawater-soaked sediment, gathering it around their hands and shaping it into something like spiked maces before pounding the Merfolk Warriors and Merfolk Hunters.
Only Merfolk Warriors could barely withstand those hammer-like hands. The Coral blades and short spears of the Merfolk Hunters struck the Granite Golems without affecting them in the slightest, merely making the Granite Golems appear more comical or more ferocious.
After all, their bodies had no function for sensing pain.
Krite's Puppet Legion was simply plain and unadorned. They used only basic elemental magic, while all their remaining witchcraft arrays and runes were devoted to strengthening their power, healing ability, and defenses. Every puppet was an immensely strong, thick-skinned tank.
The Puppet Legion crushed the merfolk army with unstoppable force. This was the systematic Wizard Civilization crushing the weak and ignorant merfolk civilization—a bloody, brutal crushing.
