Rune-holder conflict

Baron travels as the leader of a vessel within a three-balloon expedition, accompanied by two white-robed Wizards 236 239. He possesses a palm-sized transparent crystal rune sought by several Wizards; the rune can no longer be removed after seven days 238 239.

On the final day before that deadline, Baron openly calls for challengers to claim the rune. Perry, Anglie, Nuopei, and their allies attack him aboard the vessel 239. Baron deploys two Storm Elements, but the attackers overwhelm his defenses; Anglie ultimately takes the crystal rune after Baron is knocked unconscious 239.

Cloud Bee attack

Despite their earlier conflict, Anglie coordinates with Baron during the Cloud Bee assault on the expedition 242. Baron is later impaled by a Cloud Bee's tail stinger and frozen, dying as the creatures carry off most of the expedition's Wizards 245.
