Background / History

Xiao Kong is a Temporal Saint Dragon who chose Yu Yuan as his master after witnessing a future timeline. In that future, Yu Yuan fought three gods alone but was ultimately killed by the God King; Xiao Kong had also helped refine Yu Yuan's Asura God secret technique. Believing Yu Yuan would not become subservient to Tang San or abandon the soul beasts after receiving their aid, Xiao Kong offered his service in exchange for future help for soul beasts. 3

He sacrificed himself to become Yu Yuan's first 990,000-year soul ring, passing on his Temporal Saint Dragon bloodline and preserving himself as a soul spirit. The sacrifice awakened Yu Yuan's Golden Sacred Dragon bloodline, granted time-and-space affinity, and produced the paired external soul bones Wings of Time and Wings of Space. 4

Xiao Kong is the child of the Time Dragon King and Space Dragon King. He located the divine-position fragments and burial sites of several Dragon Kings—including his own parents—and returned to the past without taking the fragments, fearing that time reversal would displace them. 23

At the Ice-Fire Yin-Yang Eyes, Xiao Kong spent his recovered origin power summoning the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings' remaining consciousnesses. He and Yu Yuan then recruited them into a plan to create a new Dragon God and a new God Realm for dragons and soul beasts. 21 23 24

Appearance

Before his sacrifice, Xiao Kong possessed two pairs of immense silver wings whose star-filled membranes could cover a mountain peak. As Yu Yuan's soul spirit, he manifests in a much smaller form with tiny fleshy wings and no physical body. 4 24

Despite his long life and extensive knowledge, he is mischievous, theatrical, and frequently meddles in Yu Yuan's romantic life. His conduct can be shameless or boundaryless, notably including his decision to dig up his own parents' remains to locate their divine-position fragments. 9 14 23
