"The root of all this evil is Theron!"
Hearing this, even Iapetus, who was not much of a thinker, showed a troubled expression. "But we have no way of dealing with that God of Fate."
"He can't even be imprisoned in Tartarus! He can break through even the barrier you set up, and that was something even you—"
Seeing Kronos's expression grow increasingly grim while his father continued talking without a care, Prometheus decisively tugged on Iapetus's sleeve, cutting him off.
Kronos took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing the rage churning within him as he tried to remain calm. "No matter how powerful he is, he will not confront me directly."
"We only need to find a way to sever the connection between those rebels and Theron. If we eliminate those rebels as quickly as possible, then even if Theron is the God of Fate, there will be nothing he can do."
Iapetus nodded at those words. He felt that the King of Gods made perfect sense. Theron could not be imprisoned, but those rebels could.
"They will return to this world sooner or later," Kronos said. "The moment those rebels return, we will suppress them immediately. We must act quickly. As long as we do that, no matter how many arrangements Theron has made, he will be unable to carry them out."
"As you command." Iapetus immediately agreed.
The two quickly began discussing the details. In their eyes, Poseidon and the others were merely newly born gods.
No matter how naturally powerful Zeus was, he was only a few hundred years old. With two Titan Gods joining forces, they would certainly be able to suppress them in the shortest possible time.
What they did not know was that while they were making their plans, Zeus and the others in the Land of Eternal Night had finally met the mysterious Lady of the Night, Lady Nyx.
Her entire body was shrouded in a pitch-black gown adorned with stars. Her face could not be seen, and only the faint outline of her flawless figure was visible.
Yet since she had been willing to appear, that alone showed goodwill. Otherwise, if she had not wished it, Zeus and the others would never have been able to find her.
Even Rhea showed immense respect toward this primordial god. They patiently explained why they had come, while the mysterious Goddess of Night simply listened in silence from beginning to end.
After a long while, when he had finally said everything he wished to say, Zeus spoke in an incomparably humble tone. "Honored Lady of the Night, I wish to ask for your help."
Nyx gazed silently at Zeus for a moment before slowly nodding.
"Yes."
Her voice was cool and calm, with almost no trace of emotion.
The gods were instantly delighted, but before they could even offer their thanks, Nyx continued:
"I can help you, but if I do, Theron will owe me twice."
What did this have to do with Theron?
The moment those words were spoken, the gods stood there in bewilderment.
Olympus
"What do you mean I owe her twice?"
Within The Void, Theron sensed someone mentioning him. After feeling it out for a moment, he quickly realized what had happened, and his face immediately filled with confusion.
How did he owe Nyx twice? Last time, he had clearly told her to go to Gaia for compensation. This time was even more absurd—Theron had not even shown himself, so why was it being counted against him?
That was not right, was it?
Still, he could not exactly go to the Land of Eternal Night and question Nyx about it. If she said he owed her, then he owed her. In any case, he had no intention of repaying her.
With that thought, Theron let it go and continued waiting patiently for the situation to develop.
Zeus was undoubtedly a highly capable god. He was powerful and courageous, dared to think and act, and had the help of Metis, the Goddess of Wisdom.
At Metis's suggestion, Zeus also paid a visit to Pontus, the Primordial Sea God.
Due to Kronos's deliberate oppression and arrangements, Pontus had lived in unease all these years.
The new order Zeus promised struck directly at the heart of this god who disliked conflict. Thus, Zeus and the others easily gained Pontus's approval.
Pontus had married his daughter to the powerful Titan God Crius. Through this marriage alliance, Crius also developed a somewhat favorable impression of Zeus and decided to observe for a while rather than directly support Kronos.
Although it would be difficult for these Titan Gods to remain uninvolved by the end of the war, Zeus needed them to stay on the sidelines for the time being.
At the very least, until they had established themselves in this world.
After all, his brothers and sisters were still hiding in The Void, and they could not hide forever.
Once they recovered a little more, they would inevitably return to this world.
They needed to establish their own Divine Court, truly contend against Kronos, withstand the pressure of the King of Gods, and prove to all gods that they had the ability to oppose him. Only then could they win over those neutral great gods.
Kronos understood this as well. Therefore, when they returned to this world, he would certainly do everything he could to strike them down.
But as long as they endured this battle, they would have established themselves in this world.
If they could not endure it, then defeating Kronos, the King of Gods, would become nothing more than a joke. Kronos would naturally devour them all once again.
Thus, this battle was of utmost importance. All of Zeus's efforts now were to ensure that he could at least endure that first clash and display their strength to the gods in the confrontations to come.
With Metis's help, he completed this first step smoothly.
Soon, witnessed by Rhea and Metis and accompanied by Poseidon and the other five gods, Zeus arrived at Mount Olympus.
Other than the divine mountain where Kronos lived, this was the tallest mountain he could find in the world.
Yet even as the tallest mountain, it could not compare with Kronos's divine mountain. When Kronos became the King of Gods, Mother Earth Gaia had gifted him the height of that divine mountain.
"Only the tallest mountain is worthy of the status of the King of Gods. Since we are going to oppose the King of Gods, the divine mountain we choose cannot be lower than his," Metis softly reminded Zeus. "This height is not enough."
Zeus nodded. Taking a single step forward, he stood atop Olympus and looked down upon the endless mountain range beneath his feet before speaking in a low yet solemn voice.
"Great Mother Earth, you are the mother of the gods, the origin of the world, and the embodiment of motherhood. I, Zeus, Son of the King of Gods, ask you to display your divine might!"
Bolstered by divine power, his voice echoed throughout the world. Almost before his words had faded, Gaia granted his request.
The earth trembled as Mount Olympus rose from the ground. The already towering peak reached new heights, piercing the clouds and rising until it was level with the original divine mountain before finally stopping.
It was a scene of such grandeur and splendor that all gods were shaken by this divine might, their gazes turning toward it at once.
Poseidon and the others were especially stunned by such power. Their expressions were full of amazement, and they could not help voicing their admiration.
Yet as Zeus watched this scene, he knew what it represented.
This was a formal declaration of war.
A direct declaration of war against Kronos, against the old order!
The rise of Mount Olympus would surely herald a new era. Zeus firmly believed that he would succeed. He had to succeed.
It was not only him. Poseidon and the other gods were also filled with surging excitement, almost unable to wait to fight.
As for the great gods watching from across the cosmos, they understood clearly that this war could no longer be avoided. From this day onward, Kronos would no longer possess the sole divine authority of the King of Gods.
His challenger had appeared! Even the entire world trembled because of it!
Kronos immediately sensed the changes at Mount Olympus. His expression became extremely ugly, but he was not overly surprised.
In truth, Kronos had long suspected Gaia's attitude.
After all, Rhea alone could not possibly have secretly given birth to that rebellious son, Zeus, without his knowledge.
Yet he had noticed nothing at all, which meant that a primordial god must have been helping Rhea behind the scenes. Other than the benevolent Mother Earth, who else possessed such miraculous authority?
Lady Nyx had likely intervened as well. Without the cover of night, he would have discovered the traces of that child's growth long ago.
Thinking of two primordial gods secretly helping Zeus made Kronos feel extremely miserable.
But he also knew that neither Gaia nor Nyx had involved themselves in the affairs of the gods for a long time. At most, they would provide a little assistance; they would never personally enter the conflict.
That was the fundamental reason Kronos could still remain calm.
He knew that he still had a strong chance of victory.
Without any hesitation, he charged directly toward Mount Olympus while sending a signal to the Titan God Iapetus.
The Titan God Iapetus, who had been waiting for this moment, immediately rushed out of his temple, followed by his cleverest child, Prometheus.
Although he wished he could slice these rebels into a thousand pieces and devour them all, Kronos had not been blinded by rage. The unease in his heart kept him vigilant.
After arriving at Mount Olympus, knowing that all gods were watching, he did not attack immediately. Instead, he spoke in a majestic voice.
"You rebels, do you know your crimes?!"
That voice boomed throughout the world like a great bell, carrying the incomparable pressure of the King of Gods as it swept across all of Mount Olympus in an instant.
Kronos, the King of Gods, announced his arrival in this high-profile manner!
First Clash
The Olympian Gods had expected Kronos's arrival. Led by Zeus, they emerged one after another and faced the King of Gods from afar.
Kronos's gaze swept across those familiar yet unfamiliar faces one by one. They were his Queen of Gods and his children.
It was as if fire burned in Kronos's eyes. Those standing before him did not seem like his family, but enemies he wished to tear apart and devour alive.
These were the ones who wanted to resist him, rebel against him, and seize the divine authority of his King of Gods!
"Kronos, have you still not realized your mistakes? Under your rule, this world has completely lost all order! We only wish to restore order!"
Rhea stepped forward without the slightest fear, confronting Kronos head-on.
She would not even call him the King of Gods, as though the love they had once shared had never existed.
"Rhea, must you and I truly come to this?" Kronos looked at the familiar figure of the goddess before him, his voice turning dark.
"Why has it come to this? Because of you!" Rhea's beautiful eyes were full of disgust. "You have changed. You were once kind and courageous, brilliant as light itself. But now, you are twisted like a monster."
"Within you, I can even see the shadow of the brutal Sky God, Uranus! Kronos, you disgust me!"
Rhea's merciless words completely tore away the last pretense between the King of Gods and the Queen of Gods.
Kronos's expression became uglier than ever as blazing fury rose within him. No longer willing to waste words, he charged directly at Zeus.
He knew clearly that among all his children, this one posed the greatest threat. As long as he devoured Zeus, every crisis would vanish.
But Zeus had long been on guard against him. Although Kronos's attack was sudden, it still failed to achieve the result he wanted.
Zeus dodged with almost no effort. Then, at his command, the Olympian Gods immediately moved, surrounding and attacking Kronos from all sides.
The strength of these "newborn" gods had not fully recovered, so the threat they posed to Kronos was certainly not great. The only exception was Zeus.
He was clearly only a child of several hundred years, not even a thousand years old, yet the power he displayed was alarming. Kronos felt that if he was not careful in defending himself, he might even be injured.
Kronos found that extremely difficult to accept.
He did not even dare imagine how powerful Zeus could become if given a little more time.
This only strengthened his determination to kill Zeus!
He was waiting for the Titan God Iapetus to arrive, so that they could wipe out all these people in one stroke!
