Seeing Zeus actually appear, Kronos was instantly overjoyed.

Without the slightest hesitation, he drew the divine artifact Sickle and struck in fury, wielding the boundless might of the King of Gods.

The only problem was that the Three Fates had said Zeus would come to The Void, so he had guarded the inevitable entrance.

Yet he now discovered that Zeus was leaving The Void instead. This disrupted his plans somewhat; he had failed to take up the most advantageous position at once, giving Zeus a chance to react.

Zeus reacted swiftly, narrowly evading the terrifying blow.

Kronos did not think much of it. Fate was so mysterious that it was only natural for its details to remain unclear. The fact that they had foreseen Zeus appearing here was already an immensely powerful ability.

Kronos was unwilling to let such a good opportunity slip away. Gripping the Sickle, he charged forward again, unleashing his terrifying divine power without reserve. Even the entire stretch of space began to ripple. The commotion was so great that it immediately drew the attention of the great gods.

But that was not something Kronos needed to worry about. He was determined to eliminate this grave threat once and for all!

At that very moment, Zeus could think of nothing but Theron's words: "How great a price are you willing to pay for victory?" So this was what he had meant!

The situation could not have been worse. Though Zeus's divine power was formidable, it was still insufficient for him to confront Kronos head-on.

After all, he was merely a child less than a thousand years old. He still needed to grow, needed the help of others, but now, forget help—he had been caught completely off guard!

Yet Kronos would not give him time to prepare. Using the crown of the King of Gods as the catalyst and the authority of creation as the covenant, he unleashed, in an instant, the stardust aether from the cores of three thousand worlds like a boiling cauldron overturning, forming a silver torrent that spanned the heavens.

Those divine fragments condensed from elemental origins transformed beneath the King of Gods' pressure into crystal-armored giants a million zhang tall—

In the fire elemental deity's palm leapt flames capable of swallowing the heavens; behind the water elemental deity trailed a vortex that could annihilate a sea of stars; even the smallest wind elemental apostle tore open rifts that split space behind it.

An elemental legion that blotted out the sky surged forth from The Void, and the brow of every deity bore the creation mark bestowed by the King of Gods.

Turning themselves into sacrifices and becoming peaks of streaming light, they hurled themselves at Zeus one after another. There was no time at all for Zeus to dodge!

He could only rely on his powerful body to endure everything head-on. His skin split apart, wounds covered his entire body, and even his aura became considerably weaker.

Any other Third Generation God would likely have lost the ability to fight back under such a terrifying assault.

Yet Zeus had merely suffered grave injuries and continued to hold on through gritted teeth. Such terrifying potential was enough to leave any god in awe.

That was the King of Gods! That was power capable of creating worlds!

At that moment, every great god watching this battle had the same thought: given time, this child would surely achieve greatness.

It was simply a pity that he was not yet capable of dealing with Kronos, and Kronos would certainly not give him another chance to grow.

Just as the gods had expected, Kronos's attacks became ever more violent. He intended to thoroughly defeat Zeus, then seize the chance to devour him.

And it was about to be accomplished!

Another wave of attacks came. Zeus was on the verge of being unable to hold on, and joy showed in Kronos's eyes and brows. But before he could burst into laughter, a soft sigh sounded.

A white figure appeared in The Void once more.

Alarm bells blared in Kronos's heart, and he immediately realized something. He desperately tried to destroy Zeus completely, but he was still too late.

Zeus stood too close to the depths of The Void. He had already been backed against that enormous barrier with nowhere left to retreat. The white figure merely reached out casually, and the gravely injured Zeus was pulled into the barrier.

Kronos's fatal attack struck the barrier in its entirety, shaking the whole expanse of space.

Unwillingness and fury filled Kronos's heart. He began attacking the barrier madly, his roars echoing throughout the entire world.

Yet the barrier he had personally erected, symbolizing the supreme authority of the King of Gods, remained solid and unyielding.

Kronos felt his blood rush to his head. Such intense rage turned his eyes red, and he wished he could go back in time and slap to death the version of himself who had set up the barrier.

But that was ultimately impossible.

Meanwhile, Theron looked at the Zeus he had rescued and sighed. "Poor child, you have suffered. You do not blame me, do you?"

Zeus felt as though every part of his body were in unbearable pain, but he still managed to force out a smile uglier than tears. "I know. This is a price that had to be paid."

Theron nodded and said kindly, "It is good that you understand."

After hearing that, Zeus could finally hold on no longer and fell unconscious from his severe injuries.

This was the greatest loss Zeus had suffered since his birth, and perhaps the only one he would suffer in his life.

After all, if he had been given just a little more time, someone like Kronos would have been no match for Zeus at all.

But unfortunately, he was still far too young and had suffered because of his age.

Feeling the fluctuations in his own divine power, Theron's lips slowly curved into a smile.

This was one of his experiments.

As the God of Fate, he wanted to know how far he could influence fate and whether he could alter what was destined to happen.

In this confrontation, Zeus had lost much of his prestige, but he had displayed sufficient potential. To Zeus, it was not much of a loss.

But to Theron, this attempt was extremely important.

Before the watching gods, he had once again demonstrated that he possessed the power to contend with the King of Gods, as well as his stance in supporting Zeus.

This undoubtedly added considerable weight to the Olympian Gods. Fate had been pushed forward once more, and his divine power had increased.

But that was not Theron's primary goal.

What he wanted to test was what would happen if, in the end, all the gods trusted him more than Zeus, or even chose to support Zeus because of him.

Zeus gaining the recognition of the gods and becoming the King of Gods was a destined event.

Then what would he become if he gained the recognition of the gods? Would he be able to leverage even more of this world's power?

Could he alter this destiny?

Just thinking about it was truly exciting.

Feeling a Crisis

It was rather amusing. Theron, the God of Fate, could not clearly explain what fate actually was.

The divine authority he possessed told him that fate could not be changed. From the moment he arrived in this world with his memories, everything had already become destined.

But that created a paradox. The Greek mythology in his memories had never included him, yet now that he had come here and become involved, were those events that had originally been destined still truly destined?

Theron had been far too weak before. Let alone the King of Gods, any random god could have crushed him. There was very little he could do—he could only offer a few prophecies, put on a show, and borrow a bit of power.

Simply put, he had to lie low and develop quietly.

But after thousands of years of pushing things forward behind the scenes, the once-barren world had become full of life.

The birth of all kinds of laws had made the world more complete, and Theron had gained quite a few benefits. Even his divine power had increased significantly.

Thus, he finally had the ability to personally involve himself in these events and verify whether this so-called destiny could truly be twisted and changed.

It was known that when Uranus used the might of the King of Gods to curse Kronos, Zeus had already become the destined King of Gods.

If no one interfered and events were allowed to unfold naturally, Zeus would surely emerge victorious in the end. He would inevitably replace Kronos, gain the support of the gods, and become the third King of Gods.

Therefore, Theron decided to interfere and see what would happen.

Of course, he had no desire to become the King of Gods. He merely wanted to see how far he could influence fate.

This intervention was only meant to help the Three Fates and Prometheus gain Kronos's trust, while also making his own presence known.

Moreover, the only price was Zeus taking a brutal beating. That could not be considered a loss at all. For Theron, it was all benefit and no harm.

Even Zeus himself did not think it was a problem. If suffering some injuries himself allowed the Olympian Gods to establish themselves in this world effortlessly, then it was a price he could fully accept.

He even thought Theron's plan was excellent, becoming increasingly convinced that the final victory would surely belong to him. After all, even Kronos's most trusted people were spies on their side. What could Kronos possibly use to win?

Furthermore, Zeus's physique was powerful enough that his injuries healed quickly. It did not take long for him to recover almost completely.

Once he confirmed that the King of Gods had left, Zeus bid farewell to Theron and eagerly departed The Void, returning to Mount Olympus.

Poseidon and the others had yet to recover their strength. They could not sense the terrifying battle in The Void and did not know what had happened. They assumed Zeus had gone to win over other great gods and did not pay it much mind.

After all, their current priority was to quickly recover the power they had lost after being devoured for so many years. No one knew when King of Gods Kronos would launch his next attack.

Thus, of everyone on Mount Olympus, only one of the powerful Titans, the Goddess of Time Rhea, and the wise Metis knew about the battle in The Void.

They did not make it public, fearing it would shake morale. They could only wait anxiously for news of Zeus.

When Zeus finally returned, the beautiful Rhea immediately stepped forward. Her exquisite face was full of concern. "Zeus, my child, are you all right?"

The Goddess of Wisdom Metis stood beside her. Though she said nothing, her eyes held the same worry.

"Kind Mother Goddess, please rest assured. I have already recovered." Zeus smiled and patted his chest.

At the same time, he mischievously winked at Metis. Metis immediately lowered her head, her entire face turning red.

It was not that Rhea had failed to notice the interaction between the two children. She simply understood without saying anything.

Metis represented the mighty Oceanus and was herself the exceptionally wise Goddess of Wisdom. If Zeus and Metis could marry, it would not be a bad thing.

Besides, Rhea was concerned about something else now.

"While you were away from The Void, King of Gods Kronos gathered many Titans and went to the Temple of Fate. I fear..."

She did not finish, but her meaning was already clear.

She feared that Kronos would join forces with the Titans and strike directly at them.

Their current strength was still insufficient to face the powerful Titans working together.

Hearing this, Zeus's expression became serious as well. "Which Titans went?"

"Hyperion, Crius, Coeus, Iapetus, Phoebe, Theia..." Rhea listed a string of names, her eyes full of worry. "Together with the powerful King of Gods, that makes seven Titans."

"If they join forces now, I am afraid we will be unable to withstand them..."

Rhea's concern was not unfounded. Zeus nodded with a grave expression. "I will find a way."

But at that moment, the wise Metis spoke. "You need not worry just yet. Their gathering this time may not necessarily be directed at us."

Both Zeus and Rhea were stunned. Rhea instinctively asked, "What do you mean?"

"I believe that with our current strength, it is not enough to persuade the King of Gods to make all those Titans join the battle. Their gathering now should not be because of us."

Her words were tactful, but Zeus and Rhea understood. Simply put, the small disturbance they had caused was not enough to warrant mobilizing six Titans.

In the eyes of those Titans, Zeus's resistance was still merely a family matter for the King of Gods.

For so many great gods to be summoned at once, there had to be another reason.

As for what that reason was... they already had their suspicions. In this world, there seemed to be only one person with enough weight to alarm so many Titans.
