August Summary

Overall, August had been rather hard to get through. This author had been having a hard time himself.

Especially this past week. My wife fell and got hurt, dislocating a joint. The pain was so bad she couldn't get out of bed. Then our nanny took leave to go home and arrange her son's wedding, so this stay-at-home dad had to clock in.

Fortunately, our little angel at home was quite sensible despite being only a little over two. She could play by herself, giving me pockets of time to write.

I had originally wanted to take a few days off to care for my wife and child, but my wife said the updates couldn't stop and told me to keep writing.

For several days, I slept only a few hours...

I was also afraid of affecting the quality, and I happened to be writing the transitional chapters leading into Investiture of the Gods, so I had to rack my brains over how to make them shine. My wife didn't want our child going to the hospital, so she insisted on going herself for X-rays. I nearly broke down completely.

But in the end, I had managed to tough it out.

So far this month, I had only updated 290,000 words. Today, there was no way to make up the average of ten thousand words a day.

The nanny would be back this afternoon, so I wouldn't have to look after the child anymore.

Writing was a profession cut off from one's real-life circle. When something happened and you wanted to ask friends for help, they were all far away. It was quite helpless.

No more talk. Back to writing.
