Tomorrow, February 5, the new book "This Person Immortal Is Too Proper" will meet all you esteemed readers!
I'm very apprehensive, and very nervous.
The journey to this new book was quite tortuous. Since Senior Brother achieved such results, whether it was me, the editor, or all you esteemed readers, everyone wanted to see another outstanding new work. But Senior Brother's sudden success also caught me off guard. I couldn't guarantee I could produce results like that again.
So I wrote desperately, wrote desperately. I revised one opening several times; if I wasn't satisfied, I directly scrapped the story and conceived a new one.
The work I had prepared for over half a year—yes, while Senior Brother was at the height of its popularity, I had already begun planning a new book. I wasn't content with having just one hit; I dreamed of becoming an author like Master Jin Yong.
But this story's design was too complex, leaving even me unable to grasp it properly. My abilities were still insufficient. I wrote six or seven openings, yet none truly satisfied me, so I could only abandon it helplessly.
My editor encouraged me, saying he believed in my ability to control a story—even if the beginning wasn't dazzling, it could pick up later. But I felt I should give myself an answer sheet I could be more satisfied with.
Then there happened to be an authors' gathering in Hainan. After hesitating for a long time, I decided to change stories.
Half a year of accumulated inspiration went up in smoke.
Once my abilities are stronger, this work should meet everyone someday. Right now, I still can't rein it in.
I chose from many directions for the new story and wrote who knew how many scattered discarded drafts, until suddenly, inspiration flashed.
