Might Guy was a member of Uchiha Ling's Ninja Academy class. Early on, he joined Obito in confronting Ling after Ling provoked Kakashi, and he attempted to kick Ling during the dispute. 1 2

Guy quickly established himself as one of the class's strongest close-range fighters, easily defeating Obito during a sparring assessment. However, Ling's declaration that the entire class was “trash” gave Guy a new goal: train through the winter and defeat him. 15
