Leaping Several Ranks

The meeting had barely ended; the Duma had not even sent out an official diplomatic note yet.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs had already decided to remove Gudlav from his post as chief of the city bureau, remove Lyudmila from her post as chief of the district bureau, and expel them from the police system!

As for the patrol officer who had caused the trouble, no one even mentioned him.

Of course, his fate would not be very pleasant either...

In the eyes of others, Gudlav and Lyudmila had only themselves to blame for being dismissed.

But then the Ministry of Internal Affairs issued another promotion order, appointing Vladimir to replace Gudlav as chief of the city bureau!

That left many people dumbfounded.

Although Vladimir was already the executive deputy chief, and his place in the line of succession was indeed fairly high in theory...

The problem was that Vladimir had held the position of executive deputy chief for
