Over at the Duma, those matters had not caused the slightest ripple.
At the end of the day, they had merely arrested a few "foreigners" with no status or standing and cleaned out a batch of corrupt police officers. The "honorable" Duma deputies would not care about such trivial matters at all.
What everyone had been focusing on lately was far more important than that!
As the various factions began preparing for the election campaign in advance, most of the deputies also started taking action.
After all, elections were not merely a factional matter; they concerned the future of every single deputy!
Once the terms of the 450 Duma deputies ended next year, everyone would be facing a different future.
Some deputies would not only be re-elected but might even advance further, such as by joining one of the Duma's committees.
Such deputies were naturally the backbone of their respective factions and the most influential group within them.
With them around, a faction could develop over the long term and even grow increasingly stronger.
Then there were some deputies who, after their terms ended, would head to the government or major corporations to take up certain positions.
By cashing in on the connections they had built during their time in the Duma, they could still find a decent path forward.
And then there were the relatively "unfortunate" deputies.
Once their terms ended, they would be unemployed...
Unemployed in the literal sense. These deputies had little influence or seniority within their factions, had not done particularly well during their terms, and had no access to senior government officials or business tycoons.
Perhaps they had only been elected through a stroke of luck in the first place and did not possess much ability themselves.
Their factions would not value them much either.
