Background / History

Lin Tingwan is Lin Jianxia's younger twin sister. Their identical appearance enabled Jianxia to attend Licheng No. 3 High School under Tingwan's identity when Tingwan could not comfortably attend herself. Jianxia had transferred from Lin No. 5 High School and took leave to protect and care for Tingwan, whose student registration remained at the other school. 26

At school, Tingwan was publicly believed to have congenital mutism and poor hearing. In reality, her hearing is normal and her silence is psychological; the supposed hearing difficulty was an excuse so others would stop approaching her when she did not respond. 26
