As Hollow Mulberry Valley fell, Heavenly Mulberry Continent descended into utter chaos.
With no shortage of troubles within its own ranks, the Impermanence Sect had destroyed Hollow Mulberry Valley but had not brought all of Heavenly Mulberry Continent under its rule. It had plundered resources and occupied a few strategic locations, while leaving most other places to their own devices, at most backing a handful of local factions. For now, the Impermanence Sect had no intention of committing too much strength to the continent. It held plenty of resources, but the sect's roots there were still shallow. Though Hollow Mulberry Valley's main force had been wiped out, many remnants remained in hiding. To take complete control, the Impermanence Sect would have to invest vast numbers of people and a great deal of time, something it could not afford. Azure Firmament Mountain alone had drawn away most of its strongest fighters, to say nothing of the Dark Feather Cult and Divine Dao Founding. With Hollow Mulberry Valley no longer looming over their heads, every monster and fiend that had lain low on Heavenly Mulberry Continent came crawling out. Conflict raged without end, turning the land into a boiling pot of chaos. Some factions rose; others sank.
Hollow Mulberry Valley's legacy was naturally their chief prize. The Impermanence Sect had swallowed the lion's share, but the scraps were enough for the rest to feast on. For a brief time, the cultivation world of Heavenly Mulberry Continent even enjoyed a fleeting prosperity.
