Background / History

Qian Renxue infiltrated the Heaven Dou Empire at the age of nine and spent six years maintaining the identity of Xue Qinghe. By then, the formerly ignorant child had become a calculating operative living within the Crown Prince's Residence. 9

Two and a half months before meeting Su Li, she received fragmented memories of a future in which she and Su Li fall in love, stand together, and become gods. Curious about the person she remembered as her future husband, she sought an opportunity to approach him. 8

While disguised as Xue Qinghe, Qian Renxue encounters Su Li in Heaven Dou City and immediately recognizes him as the young man from her future memories. She invites him and Ning Rongrong to the Imperial Restaurant, proposes that she and Su Li become sworn brothers, and gives him protective gifts and a token. 7 8

After returning to the Crown Prince's Residence, she removes her disguise and reflects on the hope Su Li has brought into her isolated life. 9

The “Younger Sister” Ruse

Years later, Qian Renxue uses Xue Qinghe to invent a younger sister and insists that Su Li meet her. Her jealousy toward Dugu Yan motivates the scheme, while her frustration at Su Li's other relationships pushes her to pursue him directly. 51 52

Pursuit as Xue Qian

Under the name Xue Qian, Qian Renxue meets Su Li for breakfast and spends a day with him around Heaven Dou City. She initially frames their meeting as an order from her “brother,” but eventually admits that she has secretly watched and admired Su Li for years. 53 54 55

Su Li agrees to act as her knight for the day, a gesture that leaves Qian Renxue overjoyed. 55

Mountaintop Confession

During an evening on a mountaintop, Qian Renxue reveals more of her lonely past and her longing for companionship.
