Anton opened a file on the computer in his room and typed in the movie title.
Batman Begins
The cheat ability had not only given him a DC hero template, but also granted him perfect recall.
This perfect recall did not simply mean he had a good memory; it also came with the standard perk of entertainment novels.
In other words, everything he had experienced in his previous life remained vividly etched in his mind.
Even the shape of the piss he took when he was three years old in his previous life was deeply imprinted in his brain.
And as long as he had watched a movie, he knew its entire plot inside and out.
He could recite every line and every piece of background music in full.
Of course, Anton did not know the first thing about writing screenplays.
Based on the movie in his head, he planned to slightly expand the original Batman backstory and first write a novel of a little over two hundred thousand words.
After putting pen to paper and writing a few words, Anton racked his brains.
Then he suddenly realized that he was now a spoiled rich kid. He could simply pay someone else to do the hard work.
So, he only prepared a rough outline. The next day, when he contacted film producers through the old man's connections, he would find a few more screenwriters.
"The joys of the rich really are beyond a poor man's imagination."
Anton flopped onto the exquisitely crafted, expensive European-style bed, happily fantasized about the future, and gradually fell asleep while staring at the ceiling.
Things went unexpectedly smoothly.
After leaving the system space, Anton immediately came up with the idea of making Batman famous by creating a virtual celebrity to gain the fan points—or rather, fame—the system required.
For example, the major characters from One Piece in his previous life, Sun Wukong from ancient Chinese mythology, Odin and the other gods of Norse mythology, Zeus and the other gods of Greek mythology—honestly, they were all figures known across the world.
Measured in fan points, each character alone would be worth hundreds of millions.
Frankly, this was the simplest, most convenient, and least labor-intensive method.
Of course, it cost a bit of money.
But once it succeeded, he would not only reap fan points, but also the cash in the fans' pockets.
If it formed a positive cycle, he would kill several birds with one stone.
There was no better method than this!
As for whether Batman could attract fan points and achieve the expected spread of fame, Anton was extremely confident.
Just look at how superhero culture had swept the globe in his previous life, and it was clear how wildly popular the trend was.
Not to mention that this world, where superheroes actually existed, was itself a vast untapped market made for superhero works.
Time flowed like quicksand, and the night passed in an instant.
Whoosh!
Anton opened his eyes and staggered out of bed.
The moment he went downstairs, he saw the old man, Jonah Jameson, sitting at the table and eating breakfast.
"Where's the script?"
Jameson shot him a glance, his tone cold.
Anton remained unhurried and secretly laughed.
He had long seen through the old man's tsundere personality.
He kept saying he did not care, but if Anton ever lost his mind and wanted to go into space to keep his cheap father company, the old man would probably want to build a rocket himself and send Anton straight up.
Anton smiled. "The outline is already written."
He turned around, found the printer, imported the file, and printed several pages densely covered with background details, character settings, and a brief story outline.
"You call this a script?"
Jameson's mouth twitched. Once again, he wondered whether something was wrong with his head for actually having hopes for this spendthrift.
"Read it before you say anything."
Anton was not impatient.
Although he had not written much, the crude story on those pages already possessed the basic elements needed to move people.
Jameson had once been a newspaper owner and had worked in journalism for decades, so he could be considered half a writer.
With his outstanding ability, he had the basic skills to tell whether a news story was compelling.
By extension, he could roughly judge whether a story had selling points.
After spending several minutes reading the story of "Batman," Jameson's expression visibly changed. He was deeply surprised.
"You came up with this story? You didn't copy it?"
Jameson could hardly believe it.
As Anton's grandfather, he had never believed Anton possessed even the slightest talent for becoming a creator.
"Where would I copy it from?"
Anton crossed his arms, looking indignant. "I sit at the Daily Bugle every day. Do you think those reporters, busy enough to fly, have nothing better to do than tell stories to please me? Do you think I'm still that kid who clung to your leg and refused to sleep unless you told him a story?"
"All right, it's only a few pages, but you've made me see you in a slightly different light!"
Jameson pondered for a moment.
He was prepared to use his connections in the entertainment industry to help Anton set up the framework for this project.
After all, it was no difficult matter for him.
Although he did not know how Anton had managed to pull investment from that sucker Tony Stark, this meant that no matter how much money was lost, it would have nothing to do with their family.
Borrowing a chicken to lay eggs, catching a wolf with empty hands—Jameson saw through the whole scheme.
"I can help you find people, but I won't give you a single cent."
Jameson looked at Anton. "You'll have to negotiate everything yourself. If you can satisfy me, I won't interfere with your life again."
"Don't worry, old man. I won't give you another chance to interfere with my life."
Anton smiled.
Jonah Jameson's answer was exactly what he had expected.
Having inherited all of Anton's memories, he knew very clearly what place he held in Jameson's heart.
To outsiders, Jameson was a stubborn, profit-driven, heartless businessman.
To Anton, Jameson would always be that sharp-tongued, soft-hearted, tsundere grandfather.
As for the additional fifty million he needed to put up for his bet with Tony Stark, he could scrape together that little stash of private money. At worst, he could smooth it over through falsified accounts.
"Oh, right. Don't leave the Daily Bugle for now. I'll find another editor-in-chief to take your position." After thinking for a moment, Jameson added, "As for you, you can hold the nominal position of deputy editor-in-chief. At least you'll have a way out if you fail."
"No problem."
Anton nodded, then asked curiously, "By the way, who are you planning to put in the new editor-in-chief position? Betty, she..."
"Eddie Brock."
Jameson interrupted him. "Eddie is a well-known reporter from the Daily Globe. He's been in the business for nearly ten years. Maybe you haven't heard of him, but he..."
"No, I have."
This time, Anton interrupted Jameson. His expression turned strange. "Eddie Brock. I know him."
"That's good."
Jameson was not surprised.
After all, Anton had been editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle for some time.
Knowing about Eddie Brock meant Anton had indeed done some proper work lately and learned about developments in the industry.
"Why did you choose him?"
Anton became even more curious.
"A while ago, Eddie Brock was blacklisted by the Daily Globe and was on the verge of bankruptcy. Someone used their connections to come to me, hoping I would give him a job." Jameson's face remained expressionless. "I was planning to refuse, but you happened to say you wanted a different job, so I thought of him."
"But why can't it be Betty?"
"You became editor-in-chief at such a young age because you're the owner's grandson. What gives Betty the right to independently run a newspaper?"
"That makes sense."
Anton was left speechless.
Still, the thought of Venom working for his family was rather exciting.
Wait, speaking of which, enemies were bound to meet. Wouldn't Spider-Man and Venom become colleagues in the future?
And with Jonah Jameson, the leader of Spider-Man's haters, added to the mix...
The Daily Bugle was practically Spider-Man's biggest hater nest!
