Background

Im has ruled from the Void Throne for eight hundred years, maintaining a system in which the Five Elders and Knights of God serve as extensions of absolute authority. Im’s proxy recalls establishing the Void Throne only after ancient opposing powers disappeared, then burying that history beneath the Void Century and the World Government’s rule. 555 557

Im’s authority is sustained through strict soul contracts with the Five Elders: their lives and powers originate from Im’s bestowal. The death of Saint Saturn severs one such connection and inflicts a devastating backlash on Im. 470
