Lin Chen stayed at the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect for the night.
Early the next morning, he had just gotten up and finished washing when Ning Rongrong knocked on his door. Holding a steaming breakfast, she stood at the doorway with a beaming smile. "Good morning! I brought you breakfast!"
Seeing how attentive she was being, Lin Chen did not know whether to laugh or cry. "You're the young lady of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, not a maid who serves tea and water."
"I want to." Ning Rongrong stuffed the breakfast into his hands, then casually walked into his room and sat down on a chair. Resting her chin on both hands, she watched him. "Hurry up and eat. Once you're done, I'll take you to meet two people."
"Who?"
"Grandpa Bone and Grandpa Sword," Ning Rongrong said. "They're the guardians of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, and they're elders who watched me grow up. My father said that since you're here, you should meet them, both out of courtesy and reason."
Lin Chen nodded without asking further questions, then sat down and ate breakfast.
After eating, Ning Rongrong led Lin Chen through several corridors to a secluded courtyard. It was not large, with several ancient, weathered pine trees planted inside. Beneath them stood a stone table and several stone stools.
A thin old man with white hair and beard sat on one of the stone stools, holding a cup of tea with his eyes closed, as though dozing.
He wore a gray robe. His figure was lean and his face gaunt, yet a faint, sharp aura emanated from him. He was like a treasured sword hidden within its sheath; though it had not been drawn, its edge could already be felt.
Sword Douluo Chen Xin.
