"Are you not afraid?"
The voice came again. This time, Lin Fan heard it clearly.
Lin Fan looked around. It was pitch-black. If he had not known he could not be harmed, he would have suspected he had gone blind.
"Are you not afraid?"
Faced with the question again and again, Lin Fan could only answer blandly, "I can't understand it..."
Something shattered. What could not be understood began to change into something comprehensible. The darkness receded, and an enormous sphere appeared before Lin Fan.
The sphere emitted no light itself, yet Lin Fan could clearly make out its entirety. It was like a player exploring a dim dungeon in a game: when approaching certain objects, an unnatural light illuminated their details.
The sphere was roughly silvery white, its surface covered in vast, complex, magnificent mechanical structures. Enormous ruptures marred it, black and deep as abysses.
Lin Fan threw out his spear of light and landed on the sphere's surface. He stomped his feet and heard the dull ring of metal.
The questioning voice did not sound again. Lin Fan could only rely on his intuition to explore, until he finally stood before a black abyss and leaped into it.
As Lin Fan jumped down, a mass of flesh in the void panted in terror.
It was Amalaga, whom The Deceiver had placed within Flayed Ones flesh. He had fled from the dreadful threat behind him for too long. Even protected by the Flayed Ones flesh, he felt his mind nearing collapse.
