The Death of the Universe

At the center of the universe was an impossible-to-ignore white dot, linked to immeasurable superclusters. Not all of them were barred spirals or ellipses.

The leaf-shaped superclusters left a deep impression on Lin Fan. Countless capillary-like veins spread from their centers, with small galaxies gleaming along them.

Some structures surpassed even the leaf-shaped superclusters. Web-like filaments stretched from one end of the universe to the other, like a Great Wall dividing the universe in two.

The most conspicuous part of the Great Wall was a smiling arch-shaped structure. This strange region contained an astonishing number of galaxies, galaxy clusters, gas clouds, and interstellar dust, as though someone had deliberately gathered them together.

Correspondingly, very few galaxies could be observed beyond the arc. Vast voids surrounded it.

A green laser shot out from the edge of the universe, moving hundreds of millions of times faster than the limit this universe could bear.

Region after region along its path went dark. No matter how prosperous the civilizations around those shining stars had once been, they were reduced to nothing under the laser's vibrations.

It was like the giant trees that made up a forest being felled by a saw. No matter how many centuries of wind and rain they had endured, no matter how many dynasties they had watched rise and fall, they would all vanish meaninglessly beneath the laser's ripples.

The laser charged straight toward the center of the universe. Amid Bai Huan's jubilant voice, which made Lin Fan's scalp prickle, the impossible-to-ignore white dot shattered completely.

The superclusters linked to the white dot also rapidly died away, and the entire universe swiftly contracted inward.

The higher-order infinite-layer multiverse died. The multiverse composed of infinitely many observable universes died. The first-layer universe died. The observable universe died.
