"Can someone explain this to me?"
Abaddon's icy voice echoed across the bridge. The Navigators and psykers hung their heads, trembling, utterly afraid to look up and face his fury.
"Can any of you explain this to me?" Abaddon repeated, the killing intent and rage in his voice even more apparent. "I told you to guide those brainless idiots who can't follow orders to Cadia, yet you opened a portal straight into the underground of Agrippina's forge world?"
The sorcerers remained silent. They knew that any explanation would only add fuel to the flames.
With a glance, Abaddon ordered the Black Legion warriors to execute the incompetent sorcerers. They were dragged away by Black Legion warriors and sent into the cells holding the Chaos Spawn.
Abaddon pinched the bridge of his nose and let out a deep sigh. He knew a commander should not reveal weakness through such gestures, but right now, he needed this small act to vent the helplessness in his heart.
Carlos's grating voice rang out. "Since we're already here, why not attack Agrippina directly? Plunder all the factories and weapons there, then launch an assault on Cadia. What's not to like?"
"Attack Agrippina..." Abaddon looked coldly at Carlos. "Did you alter the portal's destination?"
"Me?" Carlos smiled. "Of course not. This is change. This is fate bestowing its favor upon you... If you are willing to follow destiny, the Black Crusade will become easy, and—"
Before he could finish, Abaddon unleashed a burst of gunfire at Carlos. The ancient ammunition loaded into the Talon of Horus carried the weight of history and the saturation of Warp power. The damage it could inflict went beyond the bounds of reality and illusion.
Carlos did not dare underestimate those special rounds. He immediately dispersed his body into mutating flames
