A portal opened beside the group, and Trazyn hurriedly carried Orikan out before rushing over to Lin Fan.
"Quick, save Orikan!" Panic was impossible to hide in Trazyn's voice.
Lin Fan looked at Trazyn in surprise. He had thought Trazyn had come from Cadia. Looking at Orikan, he found the astrologer's shell as ugly as rubber melted beneath the sun.
"Did Cadia explode too?"
"What? No! At least, not yet! Hurry and look at Orikan!" Trazyn shoved Orikan into Lin Fan's arms, then unlocked Orikan's core. The complex code made Lin Fan's eyes swim.
"I... I can't understand this... This isn't even binary... and I don't understand binary either. I studied humanities."
"Studied humanities? What humanities?" Trazyn shook his head. He did not dwell long on Lin Fan's nonsensical babbling, instead pointing at part of the code and explaining, "The Void Dragon. The Void Dragon locked Orikan's core. I can't unlock it!"
"The Void Dragon? Isn't that thing on Mars? It woke up?"
"Just unlock Orikan's code first!"
"At least tell me how to unlock it!"
Trazyn was stumped. Light flickered around his mouth, but no sound emerged. Panic had taken hold of him. He had only thought that the Subjective One could suppress the power of a C'tan, overlooking the fact that Lin Fan was merely a brute.
Maybe... maybe deleting this code will restore Orikan? No, no, this code has already attached itself to Orikan's memory blocks. He already has a bit of dementia. If I remove the code, will he lose his memory? Become like the lowest-ranking warrior?
I have to deceive him! I have to make up some lore! I have to use something ancient, something the Subjective One knows well, to stir his thoughts and save Orikan!
So how do I do that?
Trazyn looked
