Background

Lorgar arrived on Colchis as an infant inside a metal capsule that fell near Crater Mountain. Zhou Beichen found him and chose to raise him, initially regarding the child as a uniquely valuable long-term investment. Zhou presented Lorgar to the local faithful as a divine miracle and the “Divine Son.” 1 2

Lorgar grew at an extraordinary rate. Within months, he had become a towering figure with superhuman strength, using it to repair homes, dig wells, clear roads, and assist the Highland Settlement. His practical service won fervent devotion from the local population and expanded the resources and influence of Zhou Beichen’s church. 3

As he matured, Lorgar developed precognition. Though the visions caused him pain and exhaustion, he foresaw disasters such as the collapse of a water cistern and the destruction of an entire village, allowing evacuations and rescue efforts that reinforced his reputation as a divine protector. 4

Together with Zhou, Lorgar helped establish Earthly Heaven as an alternative power base against the Covenant Church. After discovering Chaos corruption on Colchis, Lorgar awakened golden Purifying Flame and used it to destroy Chaos-tainted enemies, daemons, Bishop Lot, and the twisted church at the center of the corruption. He later helped lead the unification of Colchis, combining military force, purification, and institution-building to combat the spread of Chaos. 33 35 36 39

Following Colchis’s integration into the Imperium, Lorgar took command of the Imperial Apostles. He developed Red Theory, an ideological approach to compliance that combined the Imperial Truth, Earthly Heaven’s work-point system, education, local organization, and political infiltration. He views responsibility as inseparable from power, accepting harsh actions when he believes they are necessary for the stability and survival of the people under his protection. 3 10

His faith is not passive. Lorgar prefers salvation through action: building schools, improving material conditions, organizing communities, and giving ordinary people meaningful roles in society. He opposes suppressing people’s desire to learn and believes hatred alone cannot build a better world. 19 24

As a commander, Lorgar is patient, analytical, and institution-minded.
