Nature and Formation

Qi Vortex

A cultivator entering the Dou Zhe realm gathers Dou Qi within the lower abdomen and compresses it into a liquid state, forming a rotating Qi Vortex. The resulting true Dou Qi possesses vastly greater energy than uncondensed Dou Qi. 2

Refinement

Energy absorbed from heaven and earth contains impurities and must be refined before it becomes usable Dou Qi. Allowing impurities to accumulate can slow cultivation or permanently obstruct future advancement. 9

• The Falling Heart Flame can burn away impurities from Dou Qi, reducing its volume while greatly increasing its density and contained energy. 30
• Lightning absorbed through the Ten Thousand Thunders Body Tempering method can also refine natural energy before it becomes Dou Qi. 32

Attributes and Cultivation Methods

A cultivator who has only recently become a Dou Zhe possesses milky-white, attribute-less Dou Qi. Cultivating a method converts it into Dou Qi corresponding to that method’s attribute and color. 2 3

Flame Dragon Art

The Flame Dragon Art is a Heaven Tier cultivation method inherited from Flame Dragon Saint. Its circulation route requires the opening of dormant meridians not used by lower-grade methods. 192

• Its scarlet-gold Dou Qi is stronger and denser than Xiao Yun’s former deep-red Dou Qi. 192
• While active, it can absorb energy within a hundred zhang into the user’s body. 192

Applications

Dou Qi Gauze and Armor

Dou Qi can be condensed around the body as a close-fitting defensive layer. Dou Qi Gauze enhances defense, speed, and attack. 10

• The effectiveness of such armor depends on the opponent’s strength; Xiao Yun shatters Lin Qi’s armor with a single punch. 24

Battle Qi Projection

At the Da Dou Shi realm, Dou Qi can leave the user’s body as Battle Qi Projection. 11

Fuel for Dou Techniques
