Background / History

Ei first appears when Lin Yiyi opens a dimensional rift to invite Yae Miko. Mistaking the rift for an Abyss incursion, the Raiden Shogun body attacks Lin repeatedly with sword auras before Yae Miko intervenes. Ei subsequently takes control, questions Lin, and demands an explanation for his ability to open rifts between worlds. 22

After hearing Lin's explanation and considering the opportunity to observe another world, Ei agrees to visit with Yae Miko after arranging for Inazuma to be managed in her absence. Her decision reflects a shift away from her former fixation on unchanging “eternity” and toward understanding her people’s wishes. 24
