Today was Saturday.
Normally, there were no classes on Saturdays, but Professor McGonagall had temporarily moved one class to Saturday.
So they still had class today.
Silan arrived at the classroom early, mulling over the quest that had appeared after he blew up the Dungbomb last night.
[Art! Is an Explosion!]
It asked him to choose someone to prank, then evaluate the prank based on its effects and target. Finally, he could exchange the evaluation results for trait entries.
Silan guessed that the better the prank's effect, or the more difficult the target, the better the trait entries he could exchange for in the end.
But the question was, who should he choose?
Malfoy?
That guy spent all day watching Harry, but he had never really bothered Silan. There was no need to prank him.
Besides, he was only the heir to the Malfoy family at most, hardly some major figure. Even if the prank succeeded, it probably would not earn much of an evaluation.
Forget it. Let him off this time.
Among the students, the only one who seemed noteworthy was probably Harry.
The famous Savior, the person who had taken an Avada Kedavra from Voldemort and survived, freeing the entire wizarding world from Voldemort's terrifying rule—he certainly carried enough weight.
But Harry had suffered almost as much as Silan since childhood, and he had never provoked him.
Silan was not some violent lunatic who harmed innocent people...
Besides, if he did not prank Harry hard enough, the effect would be greatly diminished, wasting this opportunity for nothing.
Silan rubbed his brow with a headache.
He expanded the range of his consideration from students to professors.
The cat professor was conscientious and responsible, and she was also his guide into magic. No need to consider her.
The half-bald old man was kind and benevolent, and Charms was an extremely important class. Let him off for now.
The herbology gardener was broad-minded and well-built, and he worked tirelessly day and night. No need to mention him.
The greasy-haired bat was a little tsundere, but fierce and ruthless, making him hard to target. Set him aside for now.
As for Hagrid and Dumbledore, Silan ultimately did not add them to his list either. One was difficult to deal with because he was a half-giant, while the other was simply too high-level. It would be easy to overplay his hand.
"Tsk, this is difficult..."
Silan leaned back in his chair with a headache, staring blankly at the ceiling as his thoughts drifted aimlessly.
This would not work, and that would not work. Was he supposed to prank Voldemort?
At that thought, an idea suddenly struck Silan. Right!
How had he forgotten about Voldemort!
Right now, Voldemort was busy being the back of Quirrell's head. Since they had fused together, would pranking Quirrell count as pranking Voldemort?
Come on, that was Voldemort.
Though he was the kind of boss who showed up only to get defeated in children's literature, once someone truly transmigrated here, they would realize that he really was a wizard standing at the pinnacle of the world.
Even though he had been "dead" for many years, few people in the wizarding world dared to mention his name directly. They all referred to him as the Dark Lord or He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.
In terms of status and influence, Voldemort was unquestionably top-tier.
If he chose Voldemort as his prank target, he might directly farm himself a golden legend!
And right now, Voldemort was still cosplaying as the back of Quirrell's head. Even if Silan pranked him, Voldemort could not exactly jump out and bite him.
After all, Dumbledore was still keeping him in check.
He would choose him!
Just as Silan made up his mind, Professor McGonagall tapped the lectern and prepared to begin class.
But after taking attendance, she discovered that two Slytherin students were absent.
They were Noah Bulstrode and Oliver Baker.
Professor McGonagall set down the register and was about to begin explaining the lesson when she suddenly caught a whiff of an indescribable stench. She was quite familiar with the smell, since the Weasley twins had used it in the castle more than once.
She instinctively held her breath and looked toward the door.
Noah and Oliver jogged all the way to the classroom entrance, panting heavily. "Sorry, Professor McGonagall. We're late."
After practicing Scourgify all night, the two of them had finally learned it.
But because they had been in such a rush, the spell's effect had not been very good. There were no obvious Dungbomb remnants left on them, but the intense odor was still assaulting everyone else's nostrils.
All the young wizards in the classroom could not help holding their breath.
"Two huge stink bombs!" Malfoy shouted, pinching his nose.
Several students covered their noses and laughed.
It made their laughter sound rather nasal.
Silan did not laugh. He even stepped forward voluntarily. "Professor McGonagall, if you permit it, I can use Scourgify on the two of them."
McGonagall nodded approvingly.
Silan really was such a good child—kind-hearted and always willing to help his classmates.
Facing the pair's hateful yet frightened gazes, Silan waved his wand and cast Scourgify, removing the strange odor from them.
It was not because he had suddenly become charitable. He simply did not want to keep getting fumigated either.
Fortunately, it was not a complete loss. At the very least, he could play the part of a good student.
"You two are late, so points should have been deducted. But Mr. Prewett helped his classmates, so points should also be awarded. Therefore, the gains and losses cancel each other out," McGonagall said.
Noah and Oliver felt utterly aggrieved.
How had he managed to do both the good deed and the bad deed?
They really wanted to tell Professor McGonagall that the reason they were late was entirely because Silan had been messing with them. He had even asked in advance whether they knew Scourgify!
But a sense of helplessness quickly welled up inside them.
Even if they said it now, Professor McGonagall would not believe them, because they had no evidence that Silan was the one who had done it.
"Now, you should thank Mr. Prewett."
"No need, no need. It was nothing."
Though Silan refused verbally, he did not sit down, clearly waiting for them to thank him.
Noah and Oliver were so angry that they felt dizzy, but there was nothing they could do. They could only force themselves to speak.
"Tha... thank you."
"You're welcome." Silan waved grandly. "We're all good classmates, after all."
Noah and Oliver gritted their teeth, thinking, What kind of good classmate threw Dungbombs into someone else's dormitory while they were sleeping?
Not only had he used a spell to blow up the Dungbombs, he had even locked the door shut!
Chris rubbed his head and shrank farther into the corner, giving them a pitiful look.
Of all people, why did you have to provoke him...
This guy did not act like a human at all!
On the surface, he looked like some pure and innocent saint who wanted everyone to get along, polite and always eager to help his classmates. In reality, his heart was black, and his hands were even blacker.
His methods were not especially damaging, but they were incredibly humiliating!
At school, he could not make you bleed, but he could make you lose every shred of face!
After finishing class, Professor McGonagall returned to her office, packed up a few things, and left Hogwarts using Floo Powder.
She had received new information regarding Silan's identity.
She had rescheduled the class today specifically to free up time for the investigation.
