Background / History

Tang San was originally an outer disciple of the Tang Sect from another martial-arts world. After secretly learning inner-sect arts, he surrendered the Buddha’s Fury Lotus and leapt from Ghost’s Sorrow Cliff, dying before transmigrating to the Douluo Continent. He was known for hidden-weapon craftsmanship, assassination, and killing techniques. 6

The diary alleges that the reborn Tang San’s body was later occupied by the Asura God, making him an “extraterrestrial demon” rather than the original transmigrator. It further claims that Tang Hao noticed something abnormal in his son from an early age, but accepted him after Tang San awakened the Clear Sky Hammer. 6

At Shrek Academy, Tang San becomes central to the Shrek Seven Monsters. He develops a close relationship with Xiao Wu, studies under Yu Xiaogang, and gains Dugu Bo’s favor after providing the latter with concealed poison weapons. The diary repeatedly characterizes him as hypocritical, status-conscious, and selectively generous, especially in its account of his treatment of Dugu Bo’s Icefire Yin Yang Well and his later political influence. When his companions doubt his claim to possess immortal herbs, Tang San briefly becomes enraged and threatens whoever he believes interfered with Xiao Wu, then immediately adopts an apologetic demeanor. Xiao Wu, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing find the abrupt change unsettling. 57
