Background

Xue Ke is a princess of the Heaven Dou Imperial Family. Despite the comfort and splendor of palace life, she regards her position as restrictive: her father’s worsening health and the political necessity of marriage leave her unable to decide her own future. 22

After receiving Qin Moyu’s Diary Copy, Xue Ke learns that the real Crown Prince Xue Qinghe died long ago and that Qian Renxue had been impersonating him. Rather than reject the person who had protected and cared for her since childhood, she accepts Qian Renxue as her elder brother. 22

The diary also introduces her to Qin Moyu. Drawn to his appearance, character, and unusual power, Xue Ke openly declares that she would not mind becoming his second wife. 22
