"Bastards! You can't treat Captain Rogers like this! He's a hero, not a criminal..."

Brock Rumlow, who was escorting him, glanced at Captain America without expression. A cold gleam of satisfaction flashed deep in his eyes.

It was at Rumlow's insistence that Captain America had put on his combat suit.

He had called it "maintaining his image," but his real aim was to strengthen the public's impression of Captain America as a hero who had used his status to commit a crime.

Captain America had guessed as much.

He could not understand what he had done to offend Brock Rumlow so badly that the man would target him like this.

But as long as he could clear his name, he did not care much about the humiliation.

After all... the innocent had nothing to hide.

Captain America believed the law would give him justice. He believed the people could see the truth.

Then the female reporter's indignant voice rang out clearly from offscreen. "Look, everyone! S.H.I.E.L.D. has brought this man before the public like some cheap product on display. This is the man who saved New York from alien invaders! Have they forgotten what he once did for S.H.I.E.L.D.?"
