With that, he folded his arms and stood where he was, perfectly at ease. With the patience unique to a scientist written on his face, he quietly watched for the humanoid vibranium robot's next reaction.
Bruce Banner nervously moved closer to him and asked in a low voice, "Tony, nothing's going to go wrong, is it?"
Tony Stark gave a slight nod, his gaze never leaving the newborn being. Full of confidence, he replied, "Relax, Banner. The final readings from the [Life Cradle] showed that the fusion was complete. But as for exactly what he's become, we'll have to let him tell us himself in a moment—"
To the [Avengers] gathered in the barn, that brief silence felt even longer than their earlier argument.

He slowly raised his head. His artificial eyes, made from some kind of luminous crystal and glowing a soft amber remarkably similar to human eyes, swept calmly over each of the [Avengers] braced for battle.
Then a remarkably human, slightly apologetic expression appeared on his face. He nodded gently. "Sorry. My actions just now may have frightened you—but that sensation was truly extraordinary. Surging torrents of data, flashes of fragmented consciousness, and the restructuring of matter—it was as though everything had happened in a single instant."
When he spoke, his voice was not the cold, electronically synthesized voice they had expected, like [Ultron]'s. Instead, it was a gentle, steady baritone with a strangely compelling resonance.
It was as though they were facing a real,
