Second Bombardment

Land of Water.

Takiyana Island, on the outskirts of the Land of Water, was a small island.

It was not large. The island and its surroundings were mostly reefs, without even a single tree.

It held no strategic value whatsoever.

It could only serve as a guardian island shielding the Land of Water from ocean waves.

Only three Mist Ninja were stationed on the island during ordinary times.

Calling it a posting was generous; it was basically exile.

After all, no sea assault would come through here. There was no food, no water, and no people—at most, a few seabirds.

The three Mist Ninja had not gone on patrol today. Instead, they were roasting seabirds at the edge of the island.

They did not know that Cloud Village had placed a metal sphere at the very center of the island, its surface now flashing red.

At that moment, all the seabirds suddenly took flight in panic.

The Mist Ninja had only just looked up when they saw a streak of yellow light skim across the sea, crashing into the center of Takiyana Island with overwhelming force.

A sense of dread had only just risen in their hearts.

Boom!

A massive flash erupted alongside a shockwave!

Shattered rocks and sand, driven by a gale blasting in all directions, slammed straight into the three Mist Ninja and sent them flying.

Before they could react, their bones and tendons were shattered. They were smashed into the sea and never emerged again.

Takiyana Island was wiped clean, leaving only an enormous crater where it had once stood.

The surrounding seawater churned into huge waves that spread in every direction.
