Background / History

Lynn began as a low-status member of the Bloodhand Gang. After being named its “Abacus Snake,” he handled accounts and quietly diverted protection money, loan interest, and procurement funds through ledgers only he could decipher. His immediate goal was to accumulate enough wealth to escape the lower class and enter a knight academy. 3 4

His plans changed after discovering the Memory Library and Analysis abilities. By rapidly recording and analyzing books, Lynn learned of Wizards and their power, deciding that Wizardry—especially the Undead Path—suited his ambitions better than knighthood. 4 9

After surviving an assassination attempt by Ghost Fox’s men, Lynn eventually left the gang’s world behind. Following One-Eyed Wolf’s death, he recovered the gang leader’s hidden fortune, including gold, deeds, jewels, a broadsword, and the Wild Blade Slash manual. 5 13

At Withered Bone Spire Academy, Lynn’s Superior Soul Talent and exceptional mental power marked him as an ideal Undead Path candidate. He rapidly rose through the apprentice ranks, became Gregor’s research assistant, and built a reputation for solving Witchcraft Model flaws for Contribution Points. 9 31 54

Appearance

Lynn is repeatedly described as young and handsome. Even years after becoming a Formal Wizard, his appearance remains largely unchanged, though his spiritual pressure and bearing make weaker practitioners reluctant to meet his eyes. 10 231

  • Wore a black, rune-patterned Formal Wizard robe after advancing beyond apprenticeship. 188
  • Later wore dark-purple or purple-black Stigma Wizard robes. 428 464
  • His Stigma Mark is a Taiji pattern: a dark-gold yin fish and golden-white yang fish, surrounded by eight golden branches representing derived rules. 400
  • The mark is displayed over the right side of his chest. 428
  • After Death Blossom, gained heightened senses, energy vision, microscopic sight, soul perception, and the ability to process twelve sensory streams at once. 160

Personality

Lynn is intensely ambitious, pragmatic, and knowledge-driven. He treats cultivation, research, and resource acquisition as priorities, refusing commitments that would consume his time or force him into unnecessary responsibility. He rejected the New Student Mutual Aid Society because he considered organizations a source of “responsibility, entanglements, and endless trouble.” 29

He is cautious around potential schemes and habitually tests information before acting. He identified traps in Ghost Market, delayed revenge against stronger enemies until he had adequate power, and scrutinized Horne before accepting information about a new world. 80 197 568

Lynn can be mercenary toward weaker people. When three apprentices offered an inadequate payment for his aid in a tomb, he accepted their Contribution Points and took their undead guards as compensation. 73 However, he is capable of practical assistance when it serves his interests or aligns with his personal judgment, such as optimizing Eileen’s sorcery model and protecting An Li from the Eternal Night Graveyard’s deathly aura. 57 415

In combat, Lynn is patient and analytical rather than reckless. He studies opponents’ patterns, exploits their overconfidence, and prepares contingencies such as Memory Stones to establish evidence after a conflict. 47 583 599

  • Absorbs and analyzes Truth Marks, intending to integrate rules from worlds he conquers. 261 279
  • Created the Myriad Phenomena Stigma Mark, whose Taiji form represents the origin and interconnectedness of all things. 400
  • His Stigmata Domain can expand across battlefields, avoid hostile domains, suppress opponents, and pull enemies into his Stigma World. 575
  • Can breach a medium-sized world’s barrier after identifying and dismantling a weak node with Analysis and Myriad Phenomena laws. 586

Physical Combat and Survival

The Death Blossom ritual transformed Lynn into an exceptionally dangerous close-range combatant.

  • Gains immense strength, endurance, reaction speed, energy resistance, regeneration, and sensory capability from his altered body. 160
  • Easily defeated the legendary knight Rex in a sparring match through speed, prediction, and precision. 220
  • Uses Phase Shift to evade physical attacks.
    • Limit: It cannot fully negate attacks formed from energy, rules, or laws. 345
