After beating up more than a dozen older students, Gemini's brain must have short-circuited to feel safe staying in the dormitory.
It wasn't that those guys coming to cause trouble was the issue, but he was worried they'd pull some dirty tricks behind his back. While it probably wouldn't have a major impact, it would still be very annoying.
He left the common room and entered the empty corridor. The castle was pitch black, but to Gemini, it just seemed a bit dimmer than usual.
A strand of webbing shot towards the ceiling. Gemini leaped into the air, agilely landing on the corridor's ceiling and heading upstairs upside down.
The castle was exceptionally quiet at night; even the stairs that moved around during the day were still.
Swish—
A strand of webbing shot onto the third-floor staircase. Gemini pulled hard, using the webbing to launch himself into mid-air on the third floor. As he flew over the second floor, he even stuck out his tongue at Mrs. Norris as she passed by.
"Meow!!"
An annoyed cat's cry echoed in the empty corridor. From a distant hallway, old Filch's grumbling could be heard. Gemini chuckled, and with a few blurs of movement, he disappeared above the stairs.
He flew all the way to the eighth floor. Gemini's feet didn't touch the ground; strands of webbing pulled him through the corridors overhead. Soon, Gemini found a large, old tapestry.
The tapestry depicted an unknown strange creature and a troll. The unknown creature seemed to be teaching the troll ballet.
Gemini was looking for the Room of Requirement; he planned to live there from now on.
However, regarding the Room of Requirement, he only remembered it was on the eighth floor, opposite a troll statue or something. Fortunately, this was the only spot on the entire eighth floor depicting a troll, so it was easy to find.
"So... the blank wall opposite the tapestry..."
Gemini dropped from the ceiling and walked back and forth three times in front of the blank wall.
Gemini focused his mind, thinking: I need a place where I can sleep comfortably, and no one can enter the room.
When he turned around for the third time, a smooth wooden door appeared on the wall.
Gemini pushed open the door, and a beautiful room appeared before him.
The room was spotlessly clean, with a large round table in the middle and several chairs placed around it.
Colorful hammocks were hung throughout the room, the walls were covered with brightly colored tapestries, and lamps were placed in every corner, illuminating the entire room brightly.
He walked into the room and closed the door.
In the corridor, the wooden door on the wall slowly vanished.
Gemini looked around the room and found that all the necessary living facilities were present: a kitchen, a bathroom, and a toilet, all kept impeccably clean, as if they had been waiting for Gemini's arrival.
The Room of Requirement, the most legendary room in Hogwarts since ancient times, was where Gemini was now.
Gemini also remembered that Voldemort's diadem was hidden in this Room of Requirement, and he planned to find it tomorrow.
As for today...
Gemini took off his clothes, found the largest hammock, covered himself with a blanket, and fell fast asleep.
The next morning, when Gemini appeared in the Great Hall, he attracted quite a few stares.
"Where did you sleep last night?" Draco asked, looking at a refreshed Gemini with a surprised expression.
"The Headmaster's office," Gemini lied smoothly, his face not blushing. "Professor Dumbledore even generously helped me set up a bed."
Draco's mouth fell open in disbelief. "You spent the night in the Headmaster's office with that old lunatic?"
"I did consider squeezing in with Professor Snape, but I figured he wouldn't be too pleased," Gemini shrugged, eating the fried egg on his plate. "Besides, if Professor Dumbledore were truly an old lunatic, he wouldn't be in his current position."
Draco blinked, unsure how to retort.
After breakfast, Snape appeared at the Slytherin table with a scowl. With a wave of his wand, class schedules landed in front of students of all years.
"First period is History of Magic. I'm heading to the classroom first."
Gemini didn't intend to linger. He grabbed his schedule and turned to leave the Great Hall. Professor Snape's gaze was too intense; he couldn't handle it.
To understand a country, one must first understand its history. This saying holds true even in the wizarding world, so to help new students understand the magical world, they had to start with its history.
The History of Magic was taught by a ghost, whom the students called Professor Binns. Legend had it that he was a History of Magic professor in life until one day, when he came to teach, he left his body behind in his office.
Gemini thought the Hogwarts Headmaster at the time must have been overjoyed—Look what I found! A ghost teacher who doesn't need a salary!
Gemini thought with a touch of dark humor, knowing that Dumbledore, despite the high turnover rate for Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers, still hired people every year. Was he harboring the same intention?
Better safe than sorry; over time, a few would inevitably become ghosts...
To be fair, Professor Binns's class was indeed nothing to write home about. On the first morning of the semester, half the class was fast asleep.
If Professor Trelawney were here, she might have let out a terrified cry: "Omen! This is an omen!"
Unfortunately, Professor Trelawney's Divination class didn't start until the third year.
Fortunately, there was only one History of Magic class on Monday morning. Slytherin and Ravenclaw had one class together, Gryffindor and Hufflepuff had another, and there was only one History of Magic class per week.
However, relatively speaking, the teachers were quite busy. After all, one teacher had to teach seven years. For the heads of the four houses, they had at least twelve or thirteen classes a week.
Fortunately, sixth and seventh-year courses were electives. In the sixth and seventh years, classes were no longer divided by house; instead, all students who had chosen a particular course formed a single large class for the entire year.
"Speaking of which, did anyone come looking for me last night?"
At lunch, Gemini asked Draco.
Draco shook his head. "No, I think they were just scared of you after you beat them up... I slept soundly all night. Do you plan to come back tonight?"
"I don't," Gemini shook his head.
As the two were chatting, a black figure appeared beside Gemini, blocking the sunlight that was shining on Gemini's back.
"Good afternoon, Professor Snape," Gemini stood up and greeted Snape warmly, "Regarding what we discussed earlier..."
"Shut up!" Snape interrupted Gemini expressionlessly, turning away. "Follow me."
A few minutes later, Gemini sat in Snape's office, looking around curiously.
The surrounding shelves were filled with jars and bottles containing troll heads, brains of unknown creatures, dead toads, animal intestines, and other disgusting-looking items that glowed a sickly green.
"Now that you've been exposed to the magnificent and colorful world of magic, as your Head of House, I must remind you not to get too carried away. Magic is beautiful, but wizards are dangerous. If you don't want to die mysteriously in some unknown place on some unknown date, you'd best learn to keep a low profile until you've grown stronger, understand?"
Snape stared at Gemini with a dark gaze.
"I am very low-profile, Professor."
Snape took a deep breath and slowly said, "Then shut your mouth."
