Background / History

Weng Yingjie graduated from high school and initially worked in construction. With Zhou Shujing using her savings and connections to help him, he rose from a construction crew to a trusted management subordinate and eventually established Weng Group. His early business success was also aided by Pei Jingyao; an Easy Weekly exposé later alleged that he turned on the Pei family during their difficulties and seized their business opportunities. 67 8

His elder brother, Weng Yingxiong, once saved his life. Weng Yingjie nevertheless left the disabled Weng Yingxiong, Yu Huixin, and the child Weng Shao in poverty while living in Jinghai with Zhou Shujing and their children.
