Background / History
During the war between gods and devils, Luohou lost his accompanying Spiritual Treasure, the Godslaying Spear, which later came into Dijiang's possession. He was defeated within the Western Ancestral Dragon Vein and remained hidden within a growing black lotus beneath the ruined western lands. 63 65
Luohou re-emerged when the Western Buddhist Kingdom departed. Hongjun immediately treated his return as an existential threat, descending with Ninth-Ninth Heaven-Piercing Purple Lightning. Luohou dismissed the attack and openly exposed Hongjun's ambition to absorb the Three Daos and bring about the Dharma-Ending Era. 61 62
When the Earthly Dao sought him out, Luohou used the opportunity to become its lord. He invested the Thirty-Six-Rank Destruction Black Lotus into the Earthly Dao, elevated six Quasi-Sages, opened Hell, and established the Six Paths of Reincarnation. This gave the Earthly Dao enough strength to contend directly with Hongjun's Heavenly Dao. 62 64
Appearance
Luohou first appears as a black-robed figure standing within a black lotus. His presence combines overwhelming demonic aura with an unexpectedly sacred quality. 61
- Dresses in black robes. 61
- Has hair that moves wildly in the wind, matching his unrestrained bearing. 61
- Projects calm arrogance even while confronting Hongjun's tribulation lightning. 61
- Commonly manifests amid black-lotus imagery and the six vortices of the Six Paths. 61 106
Personality
Luohou is calculating, ambitious, and exceptionally adept at reading or manipulating others. He frequently conceals his true intentions behind offers of cooperation, righteousness, or mutual benefit; Dijiang recognizes that Luohou's alliance proposals are attempts to use the Witch Clan against Hongjun. 90 91 149
He is also fearless and vindictive. Luohou treats Hongjun as his greatest long-standing rival and seeks not merely victory, but the reversal of the historical narrative that branded him a villain. After taking control of Heaven's forces, he has Haotian issue a decree publicizing Hongjun's “ten great crimes.” 64 100
Despite demanding stability from his subordinates, Luohou's ultimate goal remains self-directed: to unite the Three Daos, comprehend the Heaven-Splitting Great Dao, and reach a level beyond his current limits. 69 106 139
