Background / History
Demon Ghosts originate from a war-torn world where Jiedushi contend for the Central Plains and warfare has persisted for nearly a century. Thousand Slave claims that its entire life consisted of war and slaughter, with most of its knowledge coming from higher-ranking beings. 47
A number of Demon Ghosts were sent or forced across worlds into human hosts. Their stated task was to provoke disorder and test the human world’s strength, apparently at the command of a Jiedushi. Thousand Slave acknowledged that such infiltrators were effectively used as cannon fodder. 46 47
The first known Imperial City incident involved Thousand Slave inhabiting Tian Ge. After its exposure, it transformed into a four-armed monster and attacked Liu Qingni and Ning Qingqing on Linxi Street. It was subdued by Su Qingyang, interrogated, and reduced to ashes by blood-qi flame. 40 42 46 47
A second Demon Ghost possessed Huang Di and emerged at the Dark Lake beneath the Liu estate, massacring captives and killing Fourth Master Luo. Its defeat was followed by the descent of Tian You, a Jiedushi-class Demon Ghost whose phantom overwhelmed multiple Martial Dao Grandmasters in the Imperial City. 60 62 63 64
Appearance
Demon Ghosts can conceal themselves within human hosts, but their revealed forms are grotesque and vary considerably by individual and rank. Common traits include fused or distorted human flesh, multiple limbs, abnormal eyes, immense size, and black or scarlet demonic energy. 40 62 64 87
- Human-host form — Thousand Slave initially appeared as Tian Ge before its face split open and its body ruptured from within. 40
- Four-armed form — Thousand Slave’s exposed body appeared to be several human bodies fused crookedly together, with six irregular black eyes and sharp teeth. 40
- True General form — Thousand Slave expanded to nearly six meters tall and developed black bone spurs along its back. 42
- Huang Di’s form — The Demon Ghost possessing Huang Di manifested at roughly six meters tall, with four arms, three faces, and six scarlet eyes. 62
- High-ranking forms — King Generals may stand nearly thirty meters tall, while Tian You’s descended phantom reached roughly one hundred meters. 64 66 85
- Non-humanoid variants — One observed Demon Ghost possessed a warhorse-like lower body, six arms, and three massive bows. 87
Personality
Demon Ghosts displayed contempt for humans, whom they dismiss as unevolved “Lower Lifeforms” and potential blood food. Thousand Slave insisted that its near-ageless regenerative body made its kind the only race deserving the name “Human Race.” 47
Their culture appears deeply militarized. Thousand Slave accepted being deployed as expendable cannon fodder without resentment, while still valuing a violent end in battle. Tian You, by contrast, sought submission from human Grandmasters and intended to conquer another world in pursuit of becoming a “true dragon.” 47 62 64 85
Abilities & Skills
Possession and Infiltration
Demon Ghosts can inhabit human bodies to enter the human world and conceal their presence until transformation.
- Thousand Slave possessed Tian Ge before revealing its true form. 40
- Huang Di was identified as a human host for another Demon Ghost. 60
- Possession was used to create chaos and assess the combat ability of human martial artists. 47
- Stronger Demon Ghosts suffer greater suppression from the human world; weaker entities face fewer restrictions. 47
Transformation
A host body can be discarded or forcibly reshaped into a much larger combat form.
- Thousand Slave changed from a human host into a four-armed Demon Ghost, then expanded again after Xia Konghan nearly killed it. 40 42
- Revealing its true form left Thousand Slave unable to return to its smaller host body. 42
- Forms differ greatly between individuals, including humanoid, three-faced, and centaur-like bodies. 62 87
Regeneration and Durability
Demon Ghost bodies possess extreme resilience and can rapidly restore damaged flesh.
- Thousand Slave healed sword wounds and regenerated damaged flesh during its battle with Liu Qingni, Ning Qingqing, and Xia Konghan. 40 41
- It remained alive and slowly repaired itself after Su Qingyang crushed its lower body and all four arms. 42 46
- Regeneration is not absolute: Su Qingyang’s blood-qi flame completely incinerated Thousand Slave, while Liu Qingni’s Blood Jade obliterated another Demon Ghost. 47 63
Physical Combat
Demon Ghosts rely on overwhelming physical force, speed, endurance, and multi-limbed attacks.
- Thousand Slave’s punches shattered streets, leveled broad sections of ground, and nearly killed Xia Konghan despite his Innate cultivation and divine armor. 40 41 42
- Huang Di fought Fourth Master Luo in an underground battle violent enough to rupture the Dark Lake and collapse the surrounding karst cavern. 62
- Tian You’s descended phantom defeated multiple Martial Dao Grandmasters and could contend with Su Qingyang using six arms and a massive guandao. 64 65 66
Yin Energy
Higher-ranking Demon Ghosts wield concentrated yin energy in addition to physical strength.
- Tian You used yin energy to tear apart a Grandmaster’s True Qi and generate black light from its eyes. 64
- Its yin aura directly opposed Su Qingyang’s blood qi during their battle. 65
- Su Qingyang identified the Demon Ghosts’ power as a form of energy akin to yin energy. 67
