Background

Xiong Ba and his senior brother Xiong Wu trained under the Three Absolutes Elder, learning the Frost Fist, Cloud-Purging Palm, and Wind God Leg. When their master intended to pass down the Three-Part Return-to-Origin Manual, Xiong Ba provoked Xiong Wu into losing a contest for it. The Three Absolutes Elder recognized Xiong Ba's ambition and awarded the manual to Xiong Wu instead. Xiong Ba then poisoned and murdered his master, but Xiong Wu escaped with the genuine manual. 34 143

Unable to obtain the orthodox manual, Xiong Ba independently developed his own method of cultivating Three-Part Return-to-Origin Qi from the Three Absolutes Divine Skill. His self-created version eventually surpassed the original manual in subtlety and variation, and he also created the Three-Part Divine Finger. 34 144

As leader of the World Society, Xiong Ba established his headquarters at First Tower on Mount Tianshan and developed a disciplined force that dominated the western borderlands. He accepted Qin Shuang, Bu Jingyun, and Nie Feng as disciples, intending for Wind and Cloud to become the foundation of his future conquest of the martial world. 32 33 48

Personality

Xiong Ba is ruthlessly ambitious and regards strength as the only true basis for rule. He has little concern for ordinary people, believing that anyone unable to resist his martial power should kneel before him. 32

He is also highly calculating. Despite his desire to unify the martial world, he can restrain himself when a decisive conflict would damage the World Society, as shown by his acceptance of Li Chenfeng's Five-Year Agreement. 47 48

Defeat does not break his resolve. Even while captured, meridian-sealed, and forced to surrender his techniques, Xiong Ba remained convinced that he would eventually rise again and rule the realm. 36

History

Conflict with Sword Demon and Li Chenfeng

Sword Demon challenged Xiong Ba at the World Society's Three-Part Training Ground. Xiong Ba was initially suppressed by Meridian-Severing Sword Qi, but used Three-Part Return-to-Origin Qi to block Sword Demon's killing move and revealed the Three-Part Divine Finger. Both combatants inflicted severe injuries on one another. 33 34

Li Chenfeng exploited the aftermath, captured the incapacitated Xiong Ba, and sealed his acupoints and meridians with Meridian-Severing Sword Qi. To preserve his life, Xiong Ba wrote down the complete methods and formulas for the Three Absolutes Divine Skill and Three-Part Return-to-Origin Qi. 35 36

After recovering enough to return to the World Society, Xiong Ba received Li Chenfeng's open challenge. Their battle lasted from afternoon until night and ended without a decisive victor. Both men avoided a final life-or-death exchange and agreed that the World Society would not enter the lands south of the Yangtze for five years, while Sword Worship Villa would withdraw south during that period. 46 47 48

Xiong Ba concealed the severity of his renewed injuries from Li Chenfeng and his subordinates, then entered seclusion in First Tower. He entrusted World Society affairs to Qin Shuang while continuing to cultivate Three-Part Return-to-Origin Qi. 49

Final Battle and Death

Xiong Ba later arrived to confront Sword Worship Villa during the conflict involving the World Society, Unparalleled City, and Supreme City. Xiong Wu immediately sought revenge against him, while Bu Jingyun turned against his master over the destruction of Huo Family Village. 158 159 160

During the three-way battle, Xiong Ba initially countered both Xiong Wu and Bu Jingyun through his superior command of the Three Absolutes Divine Skill and Three-Part Return-to-Origin Qi. 160

Xiong Wu allowed himself to be struck by Origin-Returning Strike in order to land a prepared counterattack that pierced Xiong Ba's defenses and scorched his meridians from within. With Xiong Ba severely injured, Bu Jingyun used the Huo Family Sword Technique's Soul-Stirring Slash to sever his head. 160
