Medicine Elder was once a renowned alchemist whose path was deeply tied to the Alchemist Tower, where he remains an honorary elder. Two of the Tower's three current giants were once among his closest friends, while Xuan Yi is a former romantic interest whose unresolved feelings continue to cause tension. 488 489 491

His former disciple Han Feng betrayed him for the Flame Mantra and Sea Heart Flame, contributing to Medicine Elder's downfall. His circumstances are also connected to the Soul Hall, whose members seek Soul Bodies and would pose a serious danger if they learned he survived. 221 232

Reduced to a Soul Body, Medicine Elder slept within a ring. Li Chenfeng recognized that Seven-Illusion Azure Spirit Saliva could restore Soul Force and used it to nourish the sleeping soul.
