The Human Race is outwardly ordinary compared with the Strongest Myriad Races. It lacks the conspicuous innate traits and racial divine abilities commonly associated with other major races, though its facial features and bone structure are readily recognizable to outsiders 1068.

• No inherent racial inheritance — Human Race cultivators are described as lacking a universal bloodline inheritance or Heaven-given racial blessing 1059 2221.

History

Blood-Food Era and rise

In ancient times, many Human Race communities were raised as livestock, harvested for medicine, blood food, or Primordial Spirits. Human children with Spiritual Roots could be cultivated until they were useful to their captors, while those without Spiritual Roots were killed outright 1318. Some Small Realm populations were deceived into believing ascension would lead to a flourishing upper realm, only to encounter the same predation after crossing into the Great Worlds 1333.

The Human Race eventually produced powerhouses capable of overturning this condition. Ji Jiuxiao, the Human Emperor, led the race’s counterattack against the Three Thousand Great Worlds, establishing the foundation of its later Clan Fortune 1343 1350. During the Myriad Races Great Slaughter Era, the Human Race became a force feared even by the strongest clans; its rise was so dominant that the era was remembered by some as the era of the Human Emperor 920.

At its height, the Human Race stood at Sequence Six among the strongest races and came close to securing the foremost position 1061. Its super factions were entrenched across every Great World, and openly persecuting a human could invite retaliation against an entire clan 420 1061.

Buried debts and internal wrongs

The Human Race’s ascent came with severe moral and karmic debts. Its pillars slaughtered myriad living beings, and the Human Emperor’s effort to establish a Human Dao Imperial Court ultimately failed under the weight of that karma 1599.

The Baili Clan, the Human Race vanguard during the Great Slaughter Era, repeatedly charged into battle without support after its achievements drew suspicion from other Human Race powers. The clan was crippled and forced back to the Domain; Human Emperor Ji Jiuxiao executed his own two sons in apology 1923.

Later records also concealed the contributions of allied tribes and branded some former Human Race heroes as traitors. Sheng Chang'an eventually cleared their names through the Mountain-River Decree 1924.

Forbearance and decline

Humanity was responsible for forcing all humans to open the heavens, an act tied to the depletion of spiritual energy in the Domains and the suffering of later generations 812. The Human Race also bore lasting consequences from the annihilation of Filthlife when the heavens were opened; countless Domain Human Race heroes died young, while the Great World Human Race was burdened by the aftermath 957.

As the race endured external pressure and internal stagnation, its Clan Fortune declined. This directly weakened the prospects of ordinary Human Race cultivators: children who might once have possessed Heavenly Spiritual Roots could instead be born with lesser roots 1061. Ji Kun, an ancient Human Race Peak Immortal, condemned the era’s leaders for allowing ordinary humans to bear the cost of “endurance” while privileged factions remained insulated from humiliation 1061.

Ji Kun’s return and the Boundless campaign

Ji Kun’s awakening shook the Human Ancestor Domain and exposed the gulf between the ancient Human Race and its later descendants. He challenged the myriad races with the Sword of Human-Dao Supremacy and struck down a Peak Immortal of the Primordial Immortal Clan, leaving ravines that became forbidden domains 1063 1065.

In response to his disappointment, Jiang Jixiu withdrew the Human Race from the Chaos Immortal Spirit Ranking and issued Human Race Edicts intended to preserve its future 1066. The Human Race later shifted from restraint to open aggression: it launched a surprise attack on the Ancestral Myriad Manifestations Domain, opened war on three fronts, and declared its intent to begin a second Myriad Races Great Slaughter Era 1210.

The Human Race Mountain-River Order mobilized all Human Ancestor Domain cultivators at Dao Integration Realm and above. War Dao Artifacts, Immortal Artifacts, hidden prodigies, and the reunited Baili Clan were deployed to defend Human Race territory and Clan Fortune 1210.

Jiang Jixiu’s grand plan

The Human Race’s wars and apparent retreats concealed a broader plan. Its Immortals publicly announced seclusion, but in reality they were filling the gap left by the destroyed Ancient Saint Clan in suppressing the Great World Origin; their Immortal power was stretched so thin that they could not even dispatch incarnations 1217.

The campaign initially depleted the Human Race’s Clan Fortune and weakened its standing among the strongest races 1230. However, its Mountain-River Decree and territorial gains later raised Human Race prestige to unprecedented heights. The race offered free passage and transport to Human Race cultivators across the Great Worlds who wished to settle in its territory 1310.

Jiang Jixiu ultimately sacrificed himself for the Human Race. His death and long-term arrangements were understood only gradually by later figures such as Ji Ruonan 1309.

Collapse of the Overlord era

After the Human Race suffered a crushing defeat in the Immortal Realm, Sheng Chang'an used the Mountain-River Decree to reveal the race’s suppressed history: the abandonment of its own people, betrayal of allies, and the corruption caused by pursuing Overlord Clan glory 1923 1924.

He declared that the Human Race would no longer claim the title of Heaven-Earth Overlord Clan. Instead, he called for the race to treat its own people and allies properly, confront its past, and preserve the original courage of the Human Dao 1924.

The attempt to end the race’s wars caused a complete fracture. Sheng Chang'an established the Human Dao Yellow Court, while Zhuang Shiyuan revived the Great Sun Human Race and other factions rejected reconciliation with the Immortal Realm’s native beings 2111.

Civil war and later persecution

The Human Race divided into ten major factions, and civil war erupted between Sheng Chang'an and Zhuang Shiyuan’s forces 2111 2140. After the war, Sheng Chang'an devoted his remaining life to writing immortal scriptures for the race before undergoing Ancient Transformation. His transformed Dao Fruit protected the Human Realm from the otherwise fatal effects of Immortal Realm aura 2157 2159.

The Human Ancestor Domain was later left in ruins by an ancient Immortal War. Its mountains, rivers, Celestial Rivers, and Human Emperor Hall were shattered, while Human Race cultivators became sparse across the region 2221.

Gai Sanqian subsequently led the Human Race into war against the Longevity Clans, bringing encirclement and retaliation across the Immortal Realm 2230. The Human Dao Yellow Court eventually sank from the public stage, and the race entered an era of fighting alone throughout the Three Thousand Immortal Domains 2249.

Despite further assassination campaigns, destruction of Mortal Realm territories, and the near-annihilation of its war forces, the Human Race continued to produce defenders and ascenders. Ji Tianjue publicly identified the race as the Ancient Eighth Race, asserting its place among the Immortal Realm’s ancient peoples 2392. In a later era, the first True Immortal of the new Immortal Realms was unexpectedly a Human Race cultivator 2554.
