The Immortal Realm is so vast that communication and travel between Immortal Domains can become impossible across tens of thousands of years. 1728 Its scale ultimately made races, sects, and aristocratic lineages appear small and limited in comparison. 2454
Native Life and Immortal Dao
Immortal Realm natives possessed exceptionally strong innate foundations, but the earliest generations lacked established methods suited to their own bodies and Dao paths. During the first ten thousand years, many suffered cultivation deviation and died in bizarre accidents while attempting to cultivate. 1755
- Every race developed its own Immortal Dao; the Immortal Realm had no single patriarch who preached a universal Spiritual-Qi Immortal Path. 1711
- The earliest Innate Beings were fiercely competitive, treating mountains, immortal trees, medicine, the sun and moon, and other living beings as cultivation resources. 1683
- Survivors gradually formed tribes, races, sects, and factions to seek the Great Dao collectively. 1755
- Native traditions generally rejected Immortal Tomb inheritances: beings believed one should leave nothing behind after death unless they had first turned heaven and earth upside down. 1830
- Native races frequently possessed extraordinary innate bodies and abilities, such as the Triangular Kin's Three-Origin Immortal Eyes, endlessly tempered physiques, and knowledge-sharing Heaven-Piercing Spiritual Insight. 1770
Ascension
First documented ascendant
Xiao Sheng, formerly a Late Dao Integration cultivator and ancestor of the Embracing Origin Sect, became the Immortal Realm's first documented ascendant. He survived an Immortal Tribulation, opened a passage into the realm, and flooded his home Domain with Immortal Spirit Qi. 1680
Half a year after his ascension, Xiao Sheng arrived in the True Immortal Realm and found its land immense, barren, and unfamiliar. 1680
Effect on lower realms
The realm's ten ascensions doubled the lifespans of living beings and Immortals in the lower worlds. 1699 Later, the Immortal Realm's enhanced environment made even formerly weak newborns robust enough to endure harsh regional conditions, leaving no true mortal spirits among its native races. 2516
History
Formation and early expansion
The Eternal Ancient Immortal Kingdoms had long anticipated that the territories of the Three Thousand Great Worlds would expand and that an Immortal Domain would emerge within the Chaos Void. 672
A colossal Immortal Land Continent descended upon the Three Thousand Great Worlds, drawing Immortals from major Overlord Clans across the Boundless Great World. Its Primordial River was crossed by Immortals seeking the new territory's opportunities. 1618
| Period | Development |
|---|---|
| Early world ascension | Immortals fought over the Immortal Land Continent and the Origin of the Great Thousand World while the realm's ancient aura and Yellow-Mysterious Power revived. 1621 |
| True Immortal Realm revealed | After ten sublimations across one million years, the realm was revealed as a boundless world of layered heavens, underground realms, treasures, and Innate Dao embryos. 1676 |
| First ascension | Xiao Sheng entered through a grand ascension passage, establishing the precedent for lower-realm cultivators reaching the Immortal Realm. 1680 |
| Early domain development | The Nine-Heavens Immortal Alliance suppressed the Triangular Kin in the Primordial Origin Immortal Domain; later decades saw trade and peaceful development between domains. 1772 |
| Dao Sea cooperation | The nine great Dao Sea passages stabilized, allowing the Mystic Truth Immortal Realm's clans and lifeforms to enter and begin formal cooperation. 1843 |
Cataclysms and conflict
The Immortal Realm repeatedly experienced large-scale wars between domains, races, and ancient lineages. The Immortal Realm Cataclysm saw the Boundless Overlord Clan invade multiple Immortal Domains, devastate the Three-Eyed Ancient Immortal Clan, and provoke conflicts involving the Human Race, Primordial Immortal Clan, Grand Phoenix Immortal Domain, and Taiyi Ghost Gate. 1904
At Immortal Realm Calendar year 135,000, warfare in the Myriad Profound Eastern Land became so destructive that Dao lineages were extinguished yearly; once an Immortal was restrained, the weaker disciples of a lineage were easily massacred. 1830
A later war began when the Boundless Immortal Domain declared war upon the Three Thousand Immortal Domains. The conflict lasted at least one hundred thousand years, devastated numerous ancient clans, and created deep divisions within the Human Race. 2431
Era of True Immortals
Fang Chen, the first True Immortal, eventually illuminated the realm and preached the Light Dao. His teaching caused widespread comprehension while destroying those whose intentions were impure. 2363
Ten years later, Fang Chen reckoned with and destroyed the Heavenly Human Race across Heaven Territory, beginning an era of peace in the Immortal Realm. 2363
Fang Chen'ai later established Shaking Light Sun Peak and the Twelve Longevity Seats in the Three Thousand Immortal Domains, demonstrating the authority True Immortals held over the realm's order. 2373
Prodigy era and flourishing Dao lineages
The Immortal Realm's grand Prodigy Battle occurred once every hundred thousand years and spanned territories from the Chaos Sea through the realm's center to its distant edges. The contest determined the future influence, fortune, and public standing of races and Dao lineages. 2450
Following the great wars, the Immortal Realm entered an era in which myriad Dao paths flourished. New generations of world-suppressing powerhouses rose from the Prodigy Battles, while ascenders from All Heavens and Myriad Realms increasingly distinguished themselves. 2451
Major organizations also became central to the realm's civilization:
- Heavenly Star Myriad Dao Sea / Heavenly Sea Dao Court — A starry-sky organization that accepted qualifying prodigies of every race and maintained a vast independent Spirit Manor. 2455
- Immortal Court — Founded around Immortal Realm beast races, True Spirits, spirit beasts, and other innately powerful lineages. 2455
- Three Thousand Immortal Domains — A highly advanced Immortal Dao civilization with World Domain Gates and cross-domain teleportation formations beyond the reach of most ordinary natives. 2337
Decline and Destruction
The Eternal Ancient Immortal Territory increasingly withdrew from Immortal Realm affairs to develop the Shadow Immortal Realm and reforge the Reverse Immortal Dao System. Its departure removed the Shadow Immortal Realm from the Immortal Realm's future cultivation prospects. 2449 2499
At Immortal Realm Calendar year 1.11 billion and 10 million years, the realm's Tiandi collapsed and no Immortals remained. Great Dao inheritances were severed, Immortals died without hope of advancement, and the Finality Immortal Gate fused the corpses of three thousand True Immortals into the rules of heaven and earth. 2551
The Ominous Clan later repaired the realm's rules using the reserves of those three thousand True Immortals. Although the environment became tranquil and beautiful again, living beings could no longer become Immortals; the realm regressed toward a primordial state, and its inhabitants ceased pursuing immortality or the Dao. 2552
By the time of Qi Ming's journey across the wasteland of calamity, the Immortal Realm no longer existed. In its place stretched a boundless Tribulation Sea filled with lightning, tribulation bolts, Dao wounds, and the remnants of ancient powers. 2651
