Background

Ye Guyi originated from an era ten thousand years in the future. Her parents were killed by Evil Soul Masters, leaving her determined to eradicate them and bring peace to the world. While secretly investigating Evil Soul Masters within an underground Soul Engineer tournament, she accepted an entity’s offer to travel to the past as another person’s contract guardian in exchange for having her wish granted. 3

The agreement bound her soul to Ye Han’s. It brought her to the current era, promoted her to Rank 91, and made her responsible for protecting him. She initially viewed figures such as Flander through the reverent historical reputation they held in her time, but quickly began questioning whether the history of Martial Soul Hall and the Angel Clan had been distorted by its victors. 3

Upon arriving at the orphanage, she drove Flander away, declared Ye Han to be under her protection, and paid the orphanage to take custody of him. From then on, she accompanied him through Notting City, the Star Dou Great Forest, Sunset Forest, and toward Heaven Dou City. 3 4 38

Ye Guyi is gentle, openly affectionate, and intensely protective toward Ye Han. She calls him “Xiao Han,” consistently reassures him after dangerous encounters, and places herself between him and threats without hesitation. 3 9 11

Her compassion does not prevent her from acting decisively in battle. She confronted Tang Hao to protect Ye Han, severely punished Flander after he attacked, and killed the Amethyst Tyrant Dragon God in a single strike when securing Ye Han’s third Soul Ring. 9 17 37

She is also conscientious about collateral harm. After her battle with Tang Hao damaged Notting City, she scattered most of her wealth among the affected civilians as compensation. 10
