Power Progression

Awakening and Classification

Martial Souls are awakened during a formal ceremony and are accompanied by measurable Innate Soul Power. Children may awaken beast-type, food-type, plant-type, or trash Martial Souls; some awaken no Soul Power at all 1.

• Innate Full Soul Power is the maximum documented innate level, Rank 10. Ye Han awakens it alongside his Twin Martial Souls 1 2.
• Martial Soul quality can greatly affect the difficulty of awakening. Flander must use his level 75 Soul Power at full strength before Ye Han’s Golden Dragon manifests 1.
• A Soul Master may possess more than one Martial Soul. Ye Han has the Golden Dragon and Silver-White Aria; Twin Martial Souls are described as exceptionally rare 17 48.
• Martial Souls may undergo possession, manifesting traits or forms directly on the user, such as Ye Guyi’s angel wings and Dugu Bo’s Jade Phosphor Snake Emperor form 8 28.
• At higher cultivation, a Martial Soul can manifest an Avatar. Ye Guyi’s Twelve-Winged Archangel Avatar enlarges to contend directly with the Amethyst Tyrant Dragon God 37.

Soul Rings and Soul Skills

Soul Rings are attached to Martial Souls to advance Soul Power and grant Soul Skills. Ye Han states that adding his first ring would raise him to level 20, allowing him to attach a second ring 12.

• Soul Ring age is reflected by color in the documented examples:
  • Deep purple — Ye Han’s 6,913-year and 7,891-year rings 16.
  • Black — Ye Han’s 13,278-year ring 38.
  • Red — Ye Guyi’s hundred-thousand-year ninth ring 28.
• Ordinarily, a Soul Ring can only be absorbed by the person who kills the Soul Beast. Ye Han bypasses this restriction through his Soul Contract with Ye Guyi, allowing him to absorb the Amethyst Tyrant Dragon God’s ring after Ye Guyi kills it 37.
• Soul Skills inherit or reflect the qualities of the source Soul Beast. Ye Han’s Titan Giant Ape ring grants physical enhancement, while his Amethyst Tyrant Dragon God ring grants destructive dragon breath that suppresses healing 14 38.

Golden Dragon Soul Skills

External Soul Bones

External Soul Bones are rare Soul Beast drops that can be absorbed separately from Soul Rings and grow stronger with their owner.

• Titan Giant Ape External Elbow Bone — Absorbed by Ye Han from the 6,913-year Titan Giant Ape 13 14.
  • Grants Titan Firmament Elbow, an elbow strike with one-tenth of the power of a Titan Giant Ape of the same age 14.
  • Passively increases attack power through the elbow bone itself and stacks with Golden Dragon Titan Body 14.
• Ice-Fire Dragon King Wings — Obtained when the residual souls of the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings sacrifice their power and souls to Ye Han 33.
• Ye Han’s External Soul Bones strengthen along with his Soul Power after he obtains his third Soul Ring 38.

Martial Soul Evolution and Flaws

Martial Souls can evolve through cultivation, bloodline development, Immortal Herbs, and other external opportunities.

• Ye Han attributes the near-god-level quality of his Twin Martial Souls to the Dragon God Bloodline, which imbues them with the Golden Dragon King and Silver Dragon King bloodlines 1.
• Earth Dragon Golden Melon tempers Ye Han’s dragon blood and improves Silver-White Aria’s earth-element power 30.
• Aromatic Silk Beauty can neutralize poison and promote Martial Soul evolution. It resolves Dugu Yan’s Jade Phosphor Snake flaw and Ye Lingling’s Nine-Hearted Begonia inheritance flaw 49 50.
• The Jade Phosphor Snake line continually releases poison during cultivation; accumulated poison eventually backfires and causes suffering and death in middle age 49.
• The Nine-Hearted Begonia is restricted to a single inheriting bloodline until Ye Lingling’s evolution into the Holy Heart Begonia removes the limitation 48 50.
• Flander claims that the “Golden Saint Dragon” can degenerate through incorrect cultivation, but Ye Han regards this claim as fraudulent 2.

Documented Martial Souls
