Background

Tang San is the son of Tang Hao, the Clear Sky Douluo, and Ah Yin, a Hundred-Thousand-Year Blue Silver Emperor who had transformed into a human. He initially did not know his mother’s identity or the circumstances of her death; Tang Hao later revealed that Spirit Hall had hunted her and that she had left Tang San a Hundred-Thousand-Year Right Leg Bone. By the time Tang San learned this, both the bone and the Blue Silver Grass seed Ah Yin had become had already been stolen. 36

He possesses Twin Martial Souls: Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer. Yu Xiaogang began training him when he was six, and Tang San became Shrek Academy’s key control-type combatant. 22 41

Tang San’s rivalry with Ye Han began when he heard of the “Sky-Piercing Spear God” and questioned how Ye Han’s unknown martial soul compared with the Clear Sky Hammer. After Ye Han severely injured Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun, Tang San sought a challenge against him, partnering with Yu Tianheng. 17 24 25

The match ended in defeat. Ye Han forced Tang San to reveal the Clear Sky Hammer publicly, damaged one of his Eight Spider Lances, and defeated both Tang San and Yu Tianheng. Tang San first became interested in Ye Han after hearing reports of the Sky-Piercing Spear’s undefeated Soul Arena streak. His displeasure intensified as Ye Han’s title and martial soul were compared to the Clear Sky Hammer. 17 19
