History

Ten years before Qian Jue’s return, Mu En intended to recruit the exceptionally gifted wielder of the ultimate-darkness Fallen Angel Martial Soul. Xuan Zi and Yan Shaozhe, acting on their prejudice against darkness martial souls, altered that plan into an encirclement. Qian Jue was grievously injured and fell from a cliff, leading Shrek and the continent to believe he had died 5 8.

Qian Jue reappeared in the Star Dou Great Forest after Shrek Inner Court disciples were ambushed by a 100,000-Year Bloodthirsty Dragon Lizard. He saved the disciples, then easily suppressed the late-arriving Xuan Zi when the elder attacked him. Qian Jue spared Xuan Zi, but demanded one billion Gold Soul Coins and ten 100,000-Year Soul Bones, taking Zhang Lexuan as collateral 1 3 6.

The academy’s leadership recognized that the earlier encirclement had created its conflict with Qian Jue. Mu En nevertheless chose to meet Qian Jue’s demands because Zhang Lexuan was considered Shrek’s future hope 8.

Qian Jue later attacked Sea God Island directly. His Bell of the Dead killed many disciples and teachers, and he killed Yan Shaozhe during the ensuing battle. Mu En used the Golden Tree to temporarily reach the Demigod Realm, then sacrificed his life and soul in a final attack that destroyed Qian Jue’s Demon Domain and was believed to have killed him 18 19 20 23.

After Mu En’s death, Xuan Zi assumed responsibility for Shrek. The academy entered full lockdown, recalled external disciples, suspended Outer Academy classes, and placed Shrek City under martial law while searching for any sign that Qian Jue had survived 23.

Three years later, Qian Jue reappeared during the Death’s Hand incident in the Ming Dou Mountains. Shrek’s team had already suffered devastating losses to the Death God Envoy’s Corpse Explosion before Qian Jue defeated Xuan Zi again, killed Dai Yueheng, and crippled Ma Xiaotao’s cultivation to level 29 28 29 30. By the time of the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Soul Dueling Tournament, most of Shrek’s representative team was dead or injured 36.

Institutional Stance

Shrek Academy treats darkness-attributed martial souls as a defining sign of Evil Soul Masters. This belief shaped Xuan Zi and Yan Shaozhe’s decision to attack Qian Jue despite Mu En’s original intention to recruit him 8.

Qian Jue repeatedly condemns this position as hypocritical, contrasting Shrek’s hostility toward dark martial souls with its protection of Ma Xiaotao and her Evil Fire Phoenix martial soul. Zhang Lexuan is unable to rebut his accusation that Shrek applies a different standard to its own students 16.

The academy’s claimed friendship with the Tang Sect is also challenged after the Ironblood Sect destroyed the Tang Sect without Shrek intervention. Qian Jue presents this failure as evidence that Shrek’s leadership values alliances only while they remain useful 14.
