Background / History

Tang San grows up in Holy Spirit Village under the care of his father, Tang Hao. During his martial soul awakening, he displays Innate Full Spirit Power and is revealed to have Twin Martial Souls: Blue Silver Grass and an ordinary Forging Hammer rather than the Clear Sky Hammer Tang Hao expected. 2 3

Tang Hao becomes suspicious of Tang San's unusual maturity and secret techniques, nearly strangling him while questioning his identity. Although Tang Hao ultimately spares him, he privately decides to raise Tang San as a weapon for revenge against Spirit Hall. Tang San, unaware of this decision, clings to their family bond and fears abandonment. 3 4

Tang San initially rejects Yu Xiaogang's claim that he possesses Twin Martial Souls, judging the man's untested theories unreliable. However, his lack of Spirit Beast knowledge leaves him dependent on Yu Xiaogang when selecting a first Spirit Ring. He kneels and formally asks Yu Xiaogang to accept him as a disciple. 12 17

Personality

Tang San is secretive and intensely protective of the techniques he carries in his memories. When Yu Xiaogang identifies the possibility of his Twin Martial Souls, he instinctively responds with killing intent, having been warned by Tang Hao never to reveal the secret. 11 12

He is ambitious and unwilling to accept weaker options when pursuing power. He presses Yu Xiaogang to help him obtain a Spirit Ring close to his limit and later recognizes that his first two Spirit Ring choices were incompatible with Blue Silver Grass. 16 17 60

Despite resentment toward Yu Xiaogang's poor Spirit Ring decisions, Tang San remains loyal to his teacher. He secretly attempts to rescue Yu Xiaogang from Spirit Hall even though the captors include a Soul Saint and Soul Emperors. 42 43

His rivalry with Lin Chen leaves him bitter and vengeful. He repeatedly challenges Lin Chen despite the overwhelming difference in their strength, and he uses poisoned hidden weapons during their sparring match. 25 27 51

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San possesses Blue Silver Grass and an ordinary Forging Hammer. His two Martial Souls are considered low quality despite his Innate Full Spirit Power. 3 21

  • Blue Silver Grass — His primary Martial Soul and the focus of his Spirit Ring development.
  • Forging Hammer — His second Martial Soul; it is not the Clear Sky Hammer expected from Tang Hao's bloodline. 3
  • Innate Full Spirit Power — Tang San believes his Mysterious Heaven Technique may be responsible for his unusually high innate power. 21

Tang Sect Secret Arts

Tang San possesses several secret techniques that appeared in his memories from an early age. Tang Hao notices that he began practicing them as soon as he learned to walk. 3 4

  • Mysterious Heaven Technique — A cultivation technique Tang San believes contributed to his Innate Full Spirit Power. 21
  • Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — A movement technique used to rapidly close distance and evade attacks. 26 51
  • Purple Demon Eyes — Used alongside Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track during combat with Lin Chen. 51
  • Hidden weapons — Uses steel needles, including poisoned needles, and a Silent Sleeve Arrow. 27 29 43

Blue Silver Pole Vault

Tang San's first soul skill, obtained from the century-old Lonely Bamboo. 18

  • Condenses a Blue Silver Lonely Bamboo that can propel him by pole-vaulting.
  • Intended for evasion and movement.
  • Requires physical support for the bamboo and is easily countered when the pole is cut. 27

Second Soul Skill

Tang San's second skill comes from a Death Two-Headed Python Spirit Ring. 44

  • Condenses two Blue Silver Grasses to bind one or two targets.
  • Inflicts Death Rot Poison, causing minor localized skin ulceration.
  • Tang San considers the skill ineffective because Blue Silver Grass can already branch and its poison is weak. 44

Paralyzing Bind

Tang San's third soul skill, obtained from a thousand-year Evergreen Vine. 60

  • Releases multiple Blue Silver Grass vines to restrain several opponents.
  • Applies paralyzing poison that stiffens targets and slows their Soul Power circulation.
  • Gives Tang San a practical control-type combat option after his first two skills disappoint him. 60

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Storage Soul Tool — Given by Yu Xiaogang; used to carry hidden weapons and other supplies. 17
  • Storage belt — Holds up to twenty-four cubic meters of space. 51
  • Steel needles — Used as thrown hidden weapons; some are coated in lethal poison. 27
  • Silent Sleeve Arrow — Concealed projectile weapon used during attempted ambushes. 29 43
  • Dagger — Used for Spirit Beast hunting and other emergencies. 17 28

Relationships

  • Tang Hao — Father. Tang Hao suspects Tang San's identity after seeing his ordinary Forging Hammer, nearly kills him, then keeps him alive as a prospective weapon against Spirit Hall. 3 4
  • Yu Xiaogang — Teacher and master. Tang San becomes his disciple to gain Spirit Beast knowledge, remains loyal despite dissatisfaction with his first two Spirit Rings, and attempts to rescue him from Spirit Hall. 17 42 44
