Background / History

Formation of the Divine Realm

According to ancestral memories recovered by the Demon Beast Race, the Divine Realm was originally a collection of separate planet-worlds inhabited by the Demon Beast Race, Nether Clan, Soul Clan, Demon Race, Dragon Clan, and others. The Human Race appeared from elsewhere, attacked these worlds, and wiped out numerous races. The Demon Race and Dragon Clan later rebelled during a decisive battle, allowing several surviving races to flee to desolate worlds. The Human Race subsequently connected the conquered worlds into the modern Divine Realm 978 1006.

The displaced races later returned after tens of millions of years and briefly occupied one-third of the Divine Realm. Several major Human Race figures drove them out, after which the Human Race erected barriers around the Divine Realm and adopted a defensive posture 978.

Records found in a Soul Clan tomb describe the Human Race as extraterritorial invaders and identify the Soul Clan as natives of the Divine Realm. The tomb's owner reportedly killed more than ten Human Race God King Realm cultivators before being slain by a Human Race prodigy 903.

Decline in the Immortal Realm

The Human Race once ruled the Immortal Realm for countless eras and possessed numerous top experts, including Imperial Lord Rank and Quasi-Heaven Tier figures. Its decline began after its experts departed and failed to return, leaving the race unable to replace its old generation; Demon Races then rebelled and overthrew Human Race rule 1868 1933.

Heaven's Will later revealed that the Human Race had reached the peak permitted by its world. Some Human Race experts became “Heaven Slayers,” attempting to break beyond the Quasi-Heaven Tier limit; one who failed fused with Heaven's Will and became its consciousness 1933.

Fortune and the Human Emperor

The Human Emperor is the recognized ruler of the Human Race. Possessing the title grants access to Human Race Fortune, the recognition of Human Race powerhouses, and a connection to Haoran Righteous Qi 1357.

The Human Emperor Banner is closely tied to the race's legacy. After Qin Luo acquired the Human Emperor identity, the banner received a blessing of Human Race Fortune and Haoran Righteous Qi, enabling it to summon deceased Human Race powerhouses 1357. Later, departed Human Race souls within the banner awakened and called for the reforging of the Human Race Immortal Realm 1529.

The Human Race's Heaven's Will is described as the original master of the universe, while the Demon Race's Heaven's Will formed by stealing Human Race Fortune. Its revived Fortune can bless both humans and demons as Children of Destiny 1494.

Their mutations eventually became so severe that they lost most human traits and became identified as demons by the Human Race 910.

  • Qin Luo used the Demon Race Genealogy to restore their human forms, declaring that there would henceforth be only the Demon-Human Race and no Devil Race 910.
  • The transformed members retained traces of their former forms as tattoos 910.

• Demon Race — Historically rebelled alongside the Dragon Clan during the Human Race's early campaigns in the Divine Realm 978. The Human and Demon Realms are separated by barriers built by generations of Demon Race experts to prevent Human Race entry 1332.

  • Several Demon Race factions consider the return of a Human Emperor an existential threat, believing that Human Emperors either slaughter Demon Races or reduce them to battle beasts 1458.

• Soul Clan — Soul Clan records depict the Human Race as invaders from beyond the Divine Realm and preserve memories of resistance against Human Race armies 903.

• Nether Clan and Demon Beast Race — Both were among the races displaced by the Human Race's early expansion. In the modern era, they joined the Myriad Races Alliance and sought to exploit the Human Race's perceived weakness 978 1023.

• Ghost Race — Many Ghost Race powerhouses originated from departed Human Race souls. The Human Race has historically been the main force resisting Ghost Race expansion in the Immortal Realm 1874.

Major Arcs

Divine Realm Invasions

The Devil Race invaded through passages from the Demon Realm into the Eastern Wasteland, treating Human Race cultivators as prey and food. Their arrival plunged the region into despair until Human Race experts entered the conflict 657 756.

During the Ancient God Battlefield conflict, Human Race forces formed alliances for survival against Devil Race cultivators, zombies, demonic beasts, and other native races. Qin Luo's forces repeatedly targeted Human Race Children of Destiny for Villain Points, killing roughly one hundred Human Race cultivators in a single offensive 720 728.

Collapse and Internal Betrayal

The fall of Myriad Manifestations Fortress and its domain fueled widespread claims that the Human Race faced extinction. Many Human Race factions began seeking contact with Extraterrestrial Fiends, while the Soul Clan enslaved humans in occupied territory and the Nether Clan treated them as livestock 1023 1027.

The Divine Ruins Alliance's purge of the Salvation Alliance reversed part of this decline. Its strength discouraged factions that had intended to surrender to the Myriad Races Alliance, though many humans continued to view the Divine Ruins Alliance with suspicion because of its dealings with foreign races 1040.

Rise of the Human Emperor

Qin Luo's emergence as a Human Emperor alarmed the Demon Race, which feared that a united Human Race could once again invade the Demon Realm. The Demon Race Elder Council ordered its forces to infiltrate the Human Race and assassinate him 1357 1358.

The Human Emperor's appearance also inspired reclusive Human Race lineages during the Blood Beast invasion. As Blood Beasts shifted their attention toward the Demon Realm, some Human Race survivors interpreted the reduced pressure as a sign that Human Race Fortune was reviving 1483.

Immortal Realm Liberation

Zhou Yuanhao expanded Immortal Realm territory and negotiated equal legal status for the Human Race. An Immortal Realm proclamation declared that Human Race and Demon Race members would both be recognized as “Immortal Clan” 1847.

The Human Race subsequently fielded an increasing number of Imperial Lord Rank experts in the conflict with Ghost World. Six Human Race Imperial Lords joining the Immortal Realm force shifted the war's balance and left the Ghost Race fearing that the Human Race was rising again 1901.

By the Immortal-Ghost War, more than twenty Human Race Imperial Lord Ranks had appeared under the Immortal Court's command. Jun Mochen mobilized the Human Race for war, ordering all King Rank cultivators and above to reinforce the Immortal Court 1926 1936.
