Death was not punishment to them, but liberation.

The Spellbook was already floating before him. Yang Mu, who had been preparing to act, froze. He had never expected negotiation to be an option.

Turning to Jack, Yang Mu saw him spread his hands and shrug, indicating that he had no idea what was going on either.

Yang Mu had looked at him because Jack had previously described the Black Sail as exceptionally brutal, saying that as long as someone held Cursed Coins at sea, the Black Sail would sink that ship and kill everyone aboard.

So what was this supposed to be?

Still, Yang Mu did not continue attacking. He was not a homicidal maniac.

Of course, the main reason was that the other side seemed quite strong. There were several First-Order Lifeforms among them, and he did not seem to have much chance of winning if they fought.

He had merely been bored and wanted to have some fun, so he had lured them over. He had also wanted to see whether he could obtain some materials from them. But since trading was an option, perhaps he should forget it?

"What goods do you have for trade?"

Yang Mu ultimately gave up on attacking. As an Apprentice Rank Necromancer, facing several First-Order Lifeforms at once was far too risky.

If he had already turned Eudora into a First-Order Undead Servant, a Holy Eclipse Knight, then he would have attacked today no matter what. Not even God himself could have stopped him.

Unfortunately, he did not have the required materials. Eudora's corpse was still lying in the corruption array, converting her Holy Light Attribute into a Dark Erosion Attribute.

But since they were willing to trade, he did not mind obtaining the materials needed to destroy them from their own hands.

"What do you need? We can trade whatever we have directly. If we don't have it, we'll go find it."

Oh? They were being unusually accommodating. Yang Mu raised a brow. Wouldn't it be a waste not to bleed them dry?

"Abyssal Worm acid, dragon scales, a cursed Baptismal Holy Stole, the blood of a fallen nun..."

Yang Mu opened his mouth like a lion, rattling off dozens of materials in one breath. Among them were precious materials such as dragon scales and Ocean Essence, things that could almost only be found in legends.

The people opposite him rolled their eyes as they listened. In the end, they could no longer bear it. If they had not been wary of Yang Mu, they would have attacked long ago. Even so, they roared, "Are we trading or not? If not, then we fight!"

Yang Mu coughed. He had indeed gone a little too far, so he cut down the list and haggled repeatedly. In the end, he traded a box of Cursed Coins for over twenty relatively scarce materials.

The two sides exchanged goods and payment. Once the transaction was complete, the captain on the other ship reluctantly said to Yang Mu, "If you have more coins in the future, you can trade with us again. As long as you open the box of coins by the sea or out at sea, we'll be able to sense it."

Osmond swore that this was the one sentence he had least wanted to say in his entire life, including the decades he had spent cursed.

That smiling young man across from him was a Devil that had crawled out of Hell—greedy, cunning, and utterly without limits.

Yang Mu merely sneered at that. Go ask around the Abyss and Hell near the Mage World. Any Devil willing to trade with Yang Mu would earn the Abyssal Will's admiration for its courage.

Naturally, Yang Mu gladly agreed. Such a fine trading partner almost made him not want to kill them.

Forget it. He had only just acquired the materials, and crafting the Holy Eclipse Knight would take time. Next time, then.

Amid the atmosphere that Yang Mu alone considered friendly, the trade came to an end. Yang Mu waved goodbye to his friends.

Even though those so-called friends looked as if they were gritting their teeth, he did not care in the slightest.

After seeing off the Black Sail, Yang Mu did not continue teaching. He had only been lecturing to pass the time. Now that he had materials in hand, what ghost would have the leisure to teach these poor students? Did they really think he could not tell?

Within the middle deck, Yang Mu began crafting the Holy Eclipse Knight.

The first step was to dig out Eudora's heart and soak it in Abyssal Worm acid for seventy-two hours, allowing any Holy Energy it absorbed in the future to be converted into Inverse Holy Energy.

Next, he dug Eudora's sword and armor out from the spoils. He wrapped the sword hilt with the cursed Baptismal Holy Stole and corroded the blade with the blood of a deep-sea behemoth.

The armor also needed to be etched with the blood of a fallen nun, then covered in moss from the Undead and left for forty-eight hours.

Graveyard moss was originally required, but there were no such conditions at sea. Still, the moss on the Undead worked even better.

Once everything was prepared, Yang Mu carried it all onto the deck on a full-moon night. In the darkness, he chanted the Fallen Angel Hymn until black cross-shaped cracks emerged across the heart's surface.

He passed Eudora's holy sword through the black cross-shaped fissures. Black Dark Erosion Energy spread from the heart and along the holy sword until the entire blade had been stained black.

Only then did he pull out the holy sword and place it in Eudora's hand, returning the heart to her chest as well.

He drew a Paradox Rune Array to stabilize all paradoxical attributes. From then on, Eudora would absorb Holy Light and convert it into Dark Erosion Energy, a high-grade dark energy.

This granted her two core passive abilities.

The first was Light Devouring Conversion. It absorbed fifty percent of light-element attacks as Dark Erosion Energy, with a storage limit of five hundred units. Once that limit was exceeded, it released a Dark Erosion Shockwave with a range of fifty meters.

The other was Inverse Holy Scorch. Her attacks carried Corrupted Holy Flame. Any target burned by the Holy Flame would suffer bodily corruption, while holy-type targets would take one and a half times damage.

Besides these two passive abilities, she also possessed five active skills.

Dark Erosion Cross Slash: It cast three overlapping black cross-shaped sword energies, each with a strength of three hundred and twenty degrees, but consumed eighty units of energy.

Soul Devouring Charge: She transformed into a torrent of dark light that pierced through targets and inflicted soul damage. Each use consumed fifty units of energy.

Dark Erosion Shield: It possessed an absorption strength of three hundred degrees and shattered once that limit was exceeded. Each use consumed sixty units of energy.

Inverse Holy Judgment: Formerly Holy Light Judgment, it condensed a sword-shaped attack in midair to deliver judgment, reaching a strength of four hundred and fifty degrees.

Sacred Bone Aura: It spread a twenty-meter Inverse Holy Aura. Allied undead within its range would have three layers of damage negated. Of course, its true nature was healing—it instantly healed three layers of received damage.

When the magic array's glow dimmed, a knight overflowing with Dark Erosion Energy rose to her feet. Her head had fused with her visor, and aside from the feminine armor she wore, it was impossible to tell the knight's gender.

Jack and Higgs, who had witnessed Yang Mu's entire process, were practically drooling. Their eyes were fixed on the Holy Eclipse Knight transformed from Eudora.

Anyone could tell Eudora's strength just from her appearance. Naturally, they had no interest in Eudora's body itself; this was greed for power.

They could not imagine the undead's true strength when even their captain required such complicated procedures to create it.

Yang Mu, however, had acted out of helplessness.
