Background

Jack was a renowned pirate who had retired to Pirate Island, where he was known as Old Jack. Yang Mu offered him a first mate’s position and a return to the sea; Jack initially declined, believing two meetings were not enough reason to abandon his retirement. 14

He later accepted Yang Mu’s invitation and became first mate of the Undead. His earlier ambition to become a pirate king gave way to an obsession with higher magic after witnessing Yang Mu’s necromancy. By the time he became a Low-Level Apprentice, he already controlled his own force of Walking Corpses and Skeletons. 19

After becoming an Official Mage, Jack effectively led the Undead Pirate Crew while Yang Mu pursued other goals. The crew grew to more than two thousand pirates under his command, making Jack fiercer and more taciturn than he had been as a retired pirate. 67 81

Jack later shifted from piracy toward organization-building, founding an underground Mage force in Xierhet. He recruited children with Mage aptitude, bound them through soul contracts, and taught them the Dark Forge Meditation. 145 146

Over the following decades, he developed Chaos-based potions, Constructs, undead armies, and Mage Towers. His work made Wyvern Space a destination for incoming Mages, who recognized it as the territory of the Crimson Ghost Lord. 172 173

Appearance

Jack’s appearance changed substantially as he advanced from pirate to Chaos researcher.

  • Initially appeared bloated but moved with unexpected agility. 23
  • Fought with two oversized scimitars and a savage grin marked by large yellow teeth. 18
  • Emitted a red glow in battle, giving rise to the title Crimson Ghost Lord. 36
  • After Third-Order body modification, developed faint dragon-scale tattoos, dragon claws, and eight retractable tentacles stored in liquid form inside his body. 172
  • Strengthened a descended body with Troll Potion until it stood 1.8 meters tall with heavily developed musculature. 181

Personality

Jack began as a seasoned pirate: greedy, blunt, violent toward enemies, and protective of his own crew. He treated the Undead’s members comparatively well, discouraged infighting, and ensured that plunder was shared among them. 19 33

He is intensely ambitious but pragmatic. Yang Mu’s influence transformed his desire to rule the sea into a pursuit of magical knowledge, undead modification, contracts, and Chaos research. 19 145 172

Jack is loyal to Yang Mu and retains a filial attachment to him even after becoming an accomplished Mage in his own right. He accepts Yang Mu as both captain and mentor, while also learning to negotiate, research, and lead independently. 67 172 173

Abilities & Skills

Necromancy and Undead Command

Jack’s primary discipline is necromancy. He commands undead troops in battle and modifies corpses into specialized servants.

  • Controlled thirty Walking Corpses and more than twenty Skeletons as a Low-Level Apprentice. 19
  • Used Heavy Armored Zombies and armored Walking Corpses as durable frontline forces. 37 42
  • Created a Second-Order Undead through the Dark Divine Kingdom’s power. 108
  • Later created roughly three thousand First-Order Chaotic Undead Servants for the Dinoki Lineage’s army. 181
  • Used undead legions and Bloodline Knights in large-scale territorial warfare. 182

Bone Magic

Jack’s early spell models emphasized defense, battlefield control, and explosive undead tactics.

  • Bone Shield — Summons two floating bone shields that can block attacks within three meters of Jack; he can also use them to ram and knock down enemies. 22
  • Bone Armor — Enhances his physical combat ability, protects him from direct blows, and rapidly repairs itself using magic power. 40 42
  • Bone Spirit Detonation — Detonates Jack’s own Undead Servants; the explosion scales with the servant’s strength and can potentially kill a First-Order Lifeform when used on a First-Order servant. 54
  • Bone Spear — A basic but potent First-Order offensive bone spell used alongside undead pressure and curse magic. 102

Grudge Needle

A mental attack spell model that condenses undead resentment into invisible spikes.

  • Jack can store one needle per point of Mental Power, allowing him to store ten at the Apprentice limit. 62
  • Inflicts mental damage and can induce confusion in targets whose Mental Power is not significantly stronger than his own. 62
  • Needles grow stronger while condensed, but each caps at ninety degrees of intensity. 62

Curse and Enhancement Magic

As a First-Order Mage, Jack focused on weakening enemies while reinforcing his own forces.

  • Used a First-Order Death Aura Barrier fueled by the immense death aura accumulated during naval warfare. 102
  • Applied curse and enhancement magic to wear down stronger opponents through coordinated attacks by undead servants. 102
  • Used Magic Amplification on Undead Servants during the war in Elf Space. 129

Chaos Research and Biological Modification

Jack became a practical innovator in Chaos Power applications.

  • Perfected a Sea Monster Potion formula intended to create High-Apprentice-Rank Undead Servants. 146
  • Developed First-Order Chaos Potion formulas using ordinary creatures and cultivated flesh as base materials. 173
  • Created First- through Third-Order Chaos Bombs and a Dragon Scale Armor and Human Body Integration plan. 172
  • Refined a Dragonblood Worm Companion Parasite and modified his body to possess Third-Order physical strength. 172

Contract Rule Studies

Jack specializes in contracts, particularly exploitative agreements that secure resources and loyalty.

  • Studied Devil Tongue, Ancient Elvish, and Contract Rule Studies. 145
  • Bound four recruited children through contracts that claimed their souls after death, demanded sixty percent of acquired Mage resources, and imposed penalties for violations. 145
  • Used contractual knowledge to negotiate on behalf of his faction and avoid fraudulent claims in the Spellcraft Realm. 335 336

Close-Quarters Combat and Command

Despite becoming a Mage, Jack remains a capable melee fighter and battlefield commander.

  • Was already a master of close combat while commanding armored Walking Corpses. 37
  • Used mobility, Bone Shield, and undead encirclement to exploit Mad Beast Barto’s loss of reason. 38
  • Led the Undead Pirate Crew, the Dinoki Lineage, Troll Knights, and undead armies in naval and territorial campaigns. 81 181 182

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Two oversized scimitars — Jack’s preferred melee weapons during his pirate years. 18
  • Crimson Ring — Enhances Jack’s combat power and is used alongside Bone Armor. 42
  • Spellbook and Demon-bone wand — Together grant up to a ten-percent damage increase to recorded offensive spells. 129
  • Mage Tower — Built to support his research, organization, and Descent Formation. 148 172 177
  • Demon Hearts — Jack purchased twelve to anchor Undead Space. 81
  • Dragonblood Worm — Companion Parasite created by Jack as part of his body modification. 172

Relationships

  • Yang Mu — Captain, mentor, and father-like figure. Yang Mu recruited Jack, trained him in necromancy, supported his breakthroughs, and later exchanged Chaos and Construct knowledge with him. 14 67 172 173
  • Higgs — Fellow pirate and competitive crewmate. Jack fought alongside him, competed with him over loot, and sought to preserve his soul after Higgs was killed. 33 42
  • Fiona — Fellow Mage and later resource-trading partner. The two separately founded Mage organizations and later worked together to secure resources. 148 191 192
  • Knight Falt — Head of the Dinoki Lineage. Jack manipulated Falt’s resentment toward the Holy See into cooperation, then became the lineage’s effective leader. 180
  • Black Luo — Subordinate in the Undead Pirate Crew who follows Jack’s orders. 98
  • Jack’s contracted apprentices — Four children recruited from Xierhet’s slums and bound to Jack through soul contracts in exchange for magical education. 145
