Background

He Qing spent more than two years in a vegetative state. Though physically unable to respond, he remained conscious and could hear the people around him, including Xu Yanche when Xu first arrived at the He residence. His parents, He Yumo and Jiang Qian, arranged Xu Yanche’s marriage to him in the hope that it would bring him good fortune and help him recover. 4 6

After recovering, He Qing resumed studying company affairs and worked toward retaking control of He Group. His long absence left him rusty, but he approached the task seriously and methodically. 9
