Background / History

Ye Qingpu is a wealthy Harbor City businessman whose rise from obscurity made him the city’s richest man. Despite his status, he was originally classified as an inferior beta, a condition marked by chronic frailty, poor appetite, and severe susceptibility to colds and fever. 1 30

Before the main events, Pei Louxuan once rescued Ye from alphas who had drugged him. Ye later discovered that Pei Louxuan had been gambling with those same men over when he could get Ye into bed; Ye retaliated publicly and severed contact with him. 38

Ye hired Pei Jiaqian as a bodyguard after the latter presented himself as an omega with a tragic past.
