When Chiya Uchiha opened his eyes, he was completely bewildered.
A second ago, he had been lying in bed scrolling through short videos, watching clips about Itachi Uchiha unleashing an ocean of genjutsu and debating what really happened on the night of the massacre. He had been reading the comments section, where people argued about why Itachi didn't just help his clan stage a coup.
He had only intended to take a quick look before sleep, but the moment he closed his eyes and opened them again, he found himself standing on an unfamiliar street.
Huh? What was going on?
Chiya looked down at his clothes, then glanced at the person lying on the ground nearby, and his brain froze on the spot.
Wait, that thing on the ground looked like a corpse, didn't it?
And that Uchiha Crest on the back of the corpse...
Holy crap, Uchiha Clan!
Chiya's heart skipped a beat.
He looked further ahead and saw people strewn all over the street. Old men, women, children—they were all lying in pools of blood. The stench of blood in the air was absurdly thick; it didn't feel like watching an anime at all, but rather like the scent was drilling directly into his nose.
Chiya's face turned pale.
Good news, I seem to have transmigrated.
Bad news, I transmigrated into the Uchiha Clan Massacre Night.
What kind of person transmigrates into the night of a clan massacre?
He was just about to find a place to hide when he heard a sound behind him.
It was very faint.
Chiya turned his head stiffly.
Then, he saw a young man.
He had black hair, wore Anbu attire, and held a short blade in his hand, the tip of which was still dripping with blood. Chiya knew that face all too well—so well that he had seen it on his phone screen just a second ago.
It was Itachi Uchiha.
Chiya's brain went numb.
It was over. The perpetrator of the massacre was here. He had just been criticizing him for being too stupid and getting played by Danzo, and now the man was standing right in front of him.
He almost instinctively wanted to speak: "Wait a minute, I'm not..."
The words had barely left his lips.
Itachi had already flashed in front of him.
Chiya felt a chill in his chest, and when he looked down, he saw that the short blade had already pierced his heart.
Blood dripped down the blade.
The pain arrived a beat late, surging forward. The explosive agony made it hard for him to breathe. He opened his mouth, but he no longer had the strength; his legs went limp, and he collapsed to the ground.
At that moment, only one thought remained in his mind.
Damn it, I just transmigrated and I'm already dying?
Chiya lay on the ground, blood gushing incessantly from his chest. He wanted to say something else, like "Big brother, I'm really not part of the Uchiha Clan," or "I know the truth, please don't kill me," but unfortunately, his strength was slowly fading, and he couldn't even open his mouth anymore.
Itachi looked at him calmly, his eyes devoid of any emotion, as if he were looking at an object.
Chiya lay on the ground, feeling his body grow colder and colder.
His vision began to darken, and the sounds around him grew more and more distant. He used to read novels and think that protagonists could recall a whole lifetime of memories before they died, but now that it was his turn, he realized there simply wasn't time for that.
It hurt so much, and it was so cold.
He couldn't catch his breath.
And then, there was nothing.
When he opened his eyes again, Chiya realized he wasn't on the street.
He wasn't in a hospital, either.
He hadn't returned to his messy rental apartment, either.
He was standing in a very strange place.
The ground felt like the surface of water, yet he didn't sink when he stepped on it. The surroundings were filled with a pale blue light, and in the distance stood several tall stone pillars wrapped in intricate, incomprehensible patterns. The entire space was cold and desolate, as if moonlight had been poured into a lake.
Chiya stood there, stunned for a long time.
What the hell, where did they bring me to now?
But why did this place look a bit like Naruto's Nine-Tails space?
Though, the Nine-Tails' place was red and felt like the underworld.
This place was pale blue.
It was actually quite high-end.
Chiya subconsciously touched his chest; it was perfectly intact, and his clothes were fine too.
The corner of his mouth twitched.
"Did I die and go to heaven?"
Just then, a woman's voice came from ahead.
"Noisy."
Chiya clamped his mouth shut instantly. There were other people here?
He looked up.
He saw a woman standing amidst the pale blue mist.
Dressed in white with long, flowing white hair, her back view was unreasonably beautiful. Chiya didn't react at first, but when the woman turned her head, he froze completely.
The woman had Byakugan, white hair, a face of otherworldly beauty, and horns on her forehead.
Holy crap! Kaguya Otsutsuki.
Chiya fell silent.
He really wanted to ask: Big sister, what are you doing here?
Kaguya looked at him, her gaze chillingly indifferent. It was the kind of cold that didn't treat him like a human at all, much like how a person might see a talking ant on the side of the road and find it mildly curious at most.
Chiya braced himself and raised a hand.
"Hi?"
Kaguya didn't speak.
The atmosphere became somewhat awkward.
Chiya coughed and tentatively asked, "Um... are you Kaguya?"
Kaguya tilted her head, her gaze no longer icy and dead, but tinged with a hint of confusion, as if asking how he knew her name.
Chiya realized he might have said the wrong thing.
His mind raced; he needed to change the subject quickly.
"Um, do you know what's going on with me?"
Chiya gestured to his chest as he spoke.
He had just been stabbed through the heart by Itachi, yet he hadn't died, and instead ended up in this place that resembled a sealing space to meet Kaguya.
Wait, a sealing space?
Could it be that Kaguya Otsutsuki was sealed inside him?
No, no, no. Naruto's Nine-Tails space had a very obvious cage and seal, but here, let alone a cage or seal, it was so vast he couldn't even see the walls.
Kaguya didn't respond.
Just as he was about to ask something else, she suddenly raised her hand and waved.
The next second, the pale blue water beneath his feet shook violently, and a force pushed him directly outward.
"Wait, I haven't figured it out yet!"
Kaguya just watched him calmly.
"Be careful."
As those three words fell, everything went black before Chiya's eyes.
When the cold wind hit his face, Chiya snapped his eyes open.
He was still lying on the street of the Uchiha Clan Grounds.
In these few short minutes, he had changed scenes every time he opened his eyes—three times already. Chiya even suspected he had awakened some kind of ocular technique, the sort that switched dimensions every time he blinked.
Itachi was already gone.
Chiya immediately looked down at his chest.
His clothes were torn and the blood was still there, but unlike in that strange space, the wound at his heart was real. It was slowly healing, leaving a faint white mark where some mysterious energy was repairing his heart.
Chiya reached out to touch it; his heartbeat was normal enough.
He sat in the pool of blood, remaining quiet for a few seconds.
Then he couldn't help but curse.
"Absurd."
It was too absurd.
Crossing over into the night of the clan massacre was one thing, and getting stabbed through the heart by Itachi at the start was another, but now it seemed Kaguya Otsutsuki was living inside him. It wasn't a seal; she seemed to be living there.
Before Chiya could think it through, several whistling sounds cut through the air in the distance.
Someone was coming.
He suddenly realized something: Konoha wasn't a warm, happy family, especially at this point in time, with that old man Danzo still alive and kicking.
If he found out that he had been stabbed and was still acting like nothing happened, he would definitely want to capture him and conduct ruthless experiments.
The current situation was not yet fully clear, and at his current age (the same as Sasuke), he could not contend with the old Danzo at all. It was better to play it safe for now; once he mastered the power of Kaguya, wouldn't he be able to walk sideways across the Shinobi World?
Play dumb, he had to play dumb right now, and for the rest, he could only hope that the Third Hokage would be able to protect him.
Chiya decisively fell backward, lying back down in the pool of blood.
He closed his eyes and played dead.
A few seconds later, several Anbu landed nearby.
"There is another child here."
Someone walked over, crouched down, and reached out to check his neck.
Chiya held his breath, though his heartbeat uncontrollably skipped a beat.
The moment the Anbu's fingers touched his neck, the movement suddenly stopped.
"Wait."
"He is still alive."
The person beside him had a noticeably changed voice: "He can still live with this kind of injury?"
No one answered.
Chiya kept his eyes closed, not moving an inch.
He prayed silently in his heart: Old man Third, don't sell me out, please hold firm against the pressure from that dog Danzo.
